Kevin's POV-

"Dad! Adalyn stole my straighteners again!" Our sixteen year old son, Silas, called from his bedroom.

"No I didn't!" Our eleven year old daughter, Adalyn, called.

"Adalyn Emilia Keller-Jones if you give them back now you won't get in trouble." I said from the kitchen where I was getting breakfast ready for them. Jughead walked out of our bedroom with Benvolio, our three year old son. Then Silas came downstairs dressed in red converse, scarlet skinny jeans, a black polo shirt and a beanie covering his curly black hair.

"Trying a new look Si?" Jughead joked.

"This is you're fault! You were the one with the curly hair gene!" He yelled. This was a normal day in the Keller-Jones' house.

"Silas Blue Keller-Jones, calm down. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. It came from my grandpa who started the curly hair mess." Jughead said.

"Why can't I wear gel in my hair to conceal the curls?" He asked.

"Because remember the last time you tried to use gel?" He said.

"I'll never forget that. It took 6 showers." He said and Adalyn came downstairs. Silas is Jughead's, Adalyn is mine and Benvolio is adopted. It's really funny because Silas straightens his hair and Adalyn curls her hair.

"Daddy when do I go to school?" Benvolio asked.

"In two years." I said holding up two fingers.

"Is that a long time?" He asked.

"No." Adalyn called from the table. I picked Benvolio up and put him at the table. At our house we don't eat cereal for breakfast like most families. I make a whole breakfast. Like this morning we are having home made French toast.

"Papa, why do you all have black or brown hair and I have blonde hair?" Benvolio asked. We looked at each other because we haven't told Ben he was adopted.

"Because that's how you were born." Jughead said.

"Then why-"

"Okay you two need to get to school." I cut in before he said anything that we couldn't answer. Jughead had to go to work too. I kissed him goodbye and went to take Silas and Adalyn to school. Getting them to school is probably one of the hardest things to do everyday. Silas' high school and Adalyn's middle school are so far apart and Ben always wants to go to school with Silas and Adalyn.

When we got home, Ben wanted to watch cartoons but they weren't on. So we played good cop, bad cop instead as Jughead works with my dad as his deputy and Ben wants to follow in his footsteps. Then I got a call from Silas' school.

"Hello?"

"Is this the guardian of Silas Keller-Jones?"

"Yes. Is there a problem?"

"Yes. Would it be too much to ask for you to come down to the school?"

"No problem at all."

"Thank you." I hung up, grabbed Ben and went to Silas' school. In the principles office I saw Silas sitting there. It looked like he had been crying. I sat down in one of the chairs.

"Mr Keller-Jones, the reason we have called you down here is because there was an incident that happened at lunch." The principal said.

"I didn't even do anything!" Silas protested.

"At lunch today, Silas was showing excessive amounts of PDA in the hallways." He said. I was confused because Silas hates showing PDA. He got that from Jughead.

"So what exactly happened?" I asked.

"I literally gave him a kiss before going to class." Silas said. Silas isn't one to lie.

"Do you have a recording?" I asked.

"In fact we do." He said and showed me a recording of exactly what Silas said.

"So Silas was telling the truth?" I said, getting upset.

"Did you not see that?" He said.

"No I did. Does this have anything to do with him kissing another male?"

"Dad please no. Can we just forget about this and move on?" Silas said.

"No! Why are you saying that he was showing excessive amounts of PDA? Cause I am pretty sure when I walked in I saw a couple making out against the lockers for more than a minute. But you know what? It was a boy and girl so that makes it okay right?" I said getting mad.

"Mr Keller-Jones please calm down." The principal said.

"Dad can we please just go home?" Silas said.

"Fine. Come on." I said. Silas carried a sleeping Benvolio and we walked out of the school.

"Do we have to tell papa?" Silas asked.

"I'll deal with it since I know he doesn't take this stuff well." I said.

"Yeah. Um I have a serious question to ask you." He said.

"Shoot." I said.

"When did you, you know?" He asked and I knew what he meant.

"Can we talk about this at home?" I asked.

"Fine." He said.

The moment I was dreading, telling my son about sex.

"I was a senior in high school." I said.

"And was it special?" He asked.

"Of course. Why is this subject so important to you all of a sudden?"

"My boyfriend wanted to take it to the next level on Friday and I freaked out. I don't know anything about it. And he wanted to do it in the back of his car and I don't think I am ready for that." He said. I hugged him.

"You can do it whenever you want. And if you're not ready, you need to speak up and say so because being peer pressured into something is the thing that you are going to regret for the rest of your life."

"What if he breaks up with me? I love him." He said.

"If he is going to break up with you because you won't give it to him, he is obviously not a good person."

"Thanks dad. And just to let you know, I don't plan on doing it for a while." He said.

"Oh thank goodness." I said. Silas went to put Ben to bed and I sat on the couch and waited for Adalyn to finish school and wait for Jughead to get home. I love my family.
