Chapter 13

Holly's P.O.V

I watched Lucy sleep soundly. Chris paced back and forth.

"Those boys..." She quivered in worry. "I hope they're okay. God, I'm so worried."

"I'm sure they're doing just fine." I consoled.

"Oh, I just get so worried about Anthony. He's too reckless and Quill doesn't know when to stop and George..." She paused. "Well... I don't know too much about George, but he's just such a cutie and he's just so smart."

I gave her a confused look.

He face turned a light shade of pink.

"Oh, what can I say? Brilliance is beauty." She laughed. I rolled my eyes.

Lucy slowly opened her eyes. They were tired and gray. I scooted up next to her.

"You okay?" I asked.

She didn't answer.

"Lucy?" I asked again. "Are you okay?"

"... Do you hear it...?" She whispered.

"Hear what?" I asked.

"I hear it..." Chris muttered. "Rather annoying noise, isn't it?"

"It's the Bone Glass." Lucy's eyes darted from the ground to me. She had a worried expression. "But it can't be! We destroyed it! But that noise-"

"Lucy, what is the 'Bone Glass'?" I asked.

"It was from a past case. We got rid of it though." she muttered.

"How?" Chris asked.

"I shattered it."

"Did you burn what was left?"

"No... I don't think..."

Chris glared at the bags in the corner of the room. She walked over and took out the Skull. It seemed to be talking.

"I wouldn't count on that." Chris said to it.

"What does it want?" I asked.

"Never you mind that Holly. I'm going out for a second. You keep an eye on Lucy." She walked out, leaving me and Lucy alone.

"Did you hear what it said?" I asked Lucy in a hushed tone.

"It thinks that we're all going to die tonight." She answered simply.

"Huh... Well, I'm not to fond of that thought." I noted to myself.

"Nether am I." Lucy sat up straight. "But I can't help but think..."

"What? What is it?" I asked.

"I..." She sighed heavily. "I think Chris was right."

"Huh?"

"From the other night. I think she might've been right. It's-"

"There is no way that Chris could've been right! How would she know?"

"Well, she-" Lucy suddenly stopped.

"She what?"

"Shh!" She shushed me.

She stood and opened the cell door, and motioned for me to follow her.

"What-?"

"I hear something." She whispered.

We snuck threw the eerily quiet halls. The darkness around us gave an unsettling ambiance around us, keeping us on edge. We came to an old, rusted iron door. We pried the browned door open and glared into the pitch black hole in front of us.
