Lockwood's P.O.V
No. No no no no no NO NO NO NO!!
I couldn't believe it.
"Lucy?" I shyly asked. She didn't answer me.
The ghost looming over her shoulder chuckled. I recognized the look of it. It was the Skull. How did it get out?! How did it take over Lucy's consciousnesses? No, this couldn't be happening!!
"Tony, I think we should run." Kipps suggested. I didn't need to say a word. Lucy took one step to us and Kipps was dragging me away from her.
"Kipps! It's-"
"I know it's Lucy!! I know she's still alive but if we stayed any longer, we wouldn't be!!" He barked at me.
He was right. I knew he was right. But how were we going to get Lucy back?
We hid in a nearby cell and closed the door. We took a second to think. Then I remembered the book. I started fishing around in my backpack for it.
"The hell are you doing?" Kipps asked.
"Looking for the book."
"What book?"
"It's about ghosts. Specifically the ones Chris knows the most about." I pulled the book out and flipped through the pages.
"There's a book on that?!" Kipps moved next to me and looked through the book.
"There has to be something in here that will help us!" I desperately flipped through the pages, looking for anything that would tell me how to get Lucy back.
Demons, Night haunters, Spirit Dwellers... All things that wouldn't help us! What was the skull? What had Chris said it was? I thought back to earlier, before leaving to the asylum.

"So, what do you think it could be?" George inquired.
"It might be a minder. They're the most dangerous of Type Threes. Once under it's control, you won't be able to break from it." Chris explained.
"There must be a way..." I muttered to myself. Chris looked to me and thought.
"My guess would be a traumatic event were to take place... Then the host may have a chance to break free..." She hypothesized.
~
I had an idea. It wasn't a good one, but it was an idea. I slammed the book shut and tossed it to Kipps. I got up and dashed out of the cell, Kipps calling after me.
It didn't take long for me to find Lucy.
Well, she actually is the one who found me and promptly held her rapier to my thought. I knew it wasn't under her own intentions, however. It was hard to miss the glowing ghost behind her. Hot rage filled my stomach. The damn thing was using her as it's toy. Chris was right, we should've gotten rid of it when we had the chance. Maybe if we had, Lucy wouldn't be like this. Maybe this whole situation would be different.
But now wasn't the time to ponder "What If"s. I instinctively pulled out my rapier to deflect her attacks. With the help of the dead, she was actually quite strong and fought viciously. I twisted my arm, inflicting pain on some of my joints. The mettle clashed and clanged each time our swords collided. The haunting, cold, dead look in her normal vibrant, lively eyes was making me weaker. I couldn't stand the look in them. As if she was fighting as hard as she could internally to get free of it's grasp. We fought down the hall, she chased me from the stairs that she caught me coming down to the large window at the end of the hall of cells. This window wasn't barred. It was broken and let in the cold. I wrapped myself into my coat as I fought. The cold didn't seem to bother Lucy, but the storm outside sent snowflakes into her beautiful brown hair. In any other situation, I would've told her she looked beautiful. To see the most beautiful woman in the world, the woman I was lucky enough to call my love fight me, even though I knew it couldn't be her. My heart ached at the suffering in her eyes. I could see my Lucy inside, fighting herself, trying to make herself stop. I knew she couldn't. I knew she wouldn't be able to stop because something outside of herself was taking advantage of her. She couldn't save herself from this.
