Screeching and Bad Rapping

"Yo, E dog! You've got 20 minutes before MC MonsterBat drops the beats from the streets and school these fools!" Rory says, as he calls Ethan.

"MC Monsterbat. That's me. Rory! I'm tuning up for the school talent show!" He says, then there's a pause, "There's a really hot girl going on first!" Rory adds.

I cough, "Rory, you do realise that Benny's taken and Ethan has a crush on Sarah right?" I ask, and Rory looks at me confused for a second, "Oh yeah!" He says and I can't help but laugh a little.

Rory hangs up, "No?" I ask, he nods. "Hey, it's ok! I'll be here to cheer you on." I say smiling, he smiles back. We head over to our table and sit down, waiting for the performance to start.

"This song is about how I hurt sometimes. Maybe you'll hurt too." The girl says, "Alrighty then..." I mumble.

She starts playing on the keyboard, but once she opens her mouth, normal singing doesn't come out. I quickly put my hands over my ears to block out the screeching.

"What's wrong?" Rory mouths, "You can't hear that!?" I ask quietly. He shakes his head then his phone rings, he gets up and heads outside.

I block out the screeching on anything, anything. People's heart beats, people throwing other people around. Anything!

And I know normal people will sit here saying, "Abigail! Go outside!" But that's the thing, my feet won't move, I can't get up. So I'm stuck here blocking it out.

When she finally stops screeching, Rory comes in and looks at everyone and everything, it's a mess. "Everybody get home safely." The girl says, leaving.
"Great. How am I supposed to follow that?" Rory asks.

"Did we just tell those two guys to fight each other?" Ethan asks as the vampire duo and I walk over.

"Ugh! Why won't people fight over me when I tell them to?" Erica asks, "I gotta figure out that vampire kind control." She adds.

"You mean 'glamouring'? Cause I doubt-" Erica cuts Ethan off, "Ethan. Do. My. Homework."

"Erica."

"Yeah?"

"No."

Erica turns away in annoyance, then we look over to Sarah who's trying to dance, or something. "What's happening here?" Ethan asks.

"Sarah made me work on a dance routine for the talent show." Erica says, poking her tongue out and putting her finger in her mouth, pretending to vomit.
"She's practising for the tryout. But I'm ditching her." Erica says, walking off.

"So, are you gonna come see me and Erica dance up a storm?" Sarah asks, "No. I'm not really much for storms of the dancing variety." Ethan says.

Sarah turns to me, "Abigail, what about you?" She asks, "I have to agree with Ethan, sorry." I say smiling apologetically. She nods then dances off.

"No, Rory. You don't have electricity stuck in your teeth." Sarah answers Rory's question, "So, I came back from my apple run and all the auditions are over." Benny whines, I pat his back sympathetically.

"And the line for the nurses office is out the door." I point out, "What happened?" Ethan adds.

"Oh! Serena sang a beautiful song!" Rory says getting out his phone, "Doubt that.." I mumble.

The video starts,

"Test, test." Then the screeching from before starts again. "That's not what I heard." Rory says, "You sure? Cause that's definitely what I heard karaoke night." I say, and all eyes are on me.

"You didn't hear her beautiful song?" Rory asks, "No. I heard that." I say pointing to his phone.

"First, the football team riots in the lounge, and then a talent show tryout turns into the boss level of MegaFightaloid four." Ethan says, "Ugh, quit making video game references I don't understand." Sarah says annoyed.

"I felt like I was in a trance, but I forgot the song as soon as it was over." Rory says, "Maybe she's Justin Bieber?" I ask, and Ethan high fives me.

"Maybe she's a mermaid!" Benny says, "The Bieber joke was funnier." Ethan says, "No, seriously. Mermaids can mess with peoples minds and hide their tails on land." I point out, agreeing with Benny.

"We just need to splash some water on her and see if she grows fins. It's easy." Benny says, I raise an eyebrow. "Whatever the songbird is, just call me when you want me to kick her butt, okay?" Sarah says.

"She doesn't have a butt. Mermaids don't have butts." Benny says, and I sigh, but laugh.

"This won't work." I point out as the boys crept over to a corner with water guns. They shush me, and as Serena gets closer they jump out and spray her with water.

"Okay, fine. Not a mermaid. My bad." Benny says and as Serena comes over to slap Benny he ducks and Ethan grabs her arm.

"I can't waste time, you dweebs. I've got songs of pin to bring to everyone." She says walking off.

I quickly run over to Ethan and Benny, helping Ethan up as Rory comes up behind us.

"Definitely... not a mermaid." Ethan says, covering his ears, and I can practically feel the pain radiating off of him.

"Is that a tin foil hat?" Sarah asks as we walk over to Benny and Rory. "Aluminium foil. To keep Serena's crazy waves out of my brain." Benny says, then Rory runs off.

"Ethan says earplugs are fine, but I'm not taking any chances." Benny says, "Where is Ethan?" I ask, "I ordered him to sit this one out. He needs to recover after his showdown with Serena." Benny says, them looks at me.

"Speaking of which, so should you. Seeming you hear her original voice I don't think you should be here." Benny says, I shrug and pull out ear plugs, "I'm good, if it gets too much I'll leave." I say smiling, Benny nods hesitantly.

"Benny, is my hat tight enough?" Rory asks, Benny tries to fix Rory's hat but just drags it down his head. "Yeah." Benny says. "Thanks, pal." Rory replies.

"Hey, guys." Ethan says coming out of nowhere. "What are you doing here? You can't risk more exposure to Serena's song." Benny says.

"When we were eight and we went to see Buzzy and the Big Bee Band, and I cried-"

"He cried." Rory says laughing but is shut up by our glares.

"Did you let me face the music alone?" Ethan asks, Benny nods, "Thanks you- brother." He says as Ethan and him do this odd hand shake.

We then look at the stage and Serena is heading up onto it. "Earplugs, engage." Benny says, and we all put our earplugs/headphone on/in.

As much as the earplugs reduced the sound, I could still hear the slight screeching, making me grit my teeth.

Ethan was about to get attached but Sarah pushes him out of the way, then Ethan's headphones are knocked off.

He picks up a far of something and is about to hit Sarah but she pushes him away, "What's wrong with you?" She yells, he goes back to hit her but Sarah hits him. Hard. And he falls.

Serena finishes and says something unbearable thanks to the earplugs.
We all look down at Ethan then each other.

"If Ethan's mum finds out about this, I am so fired." Sarah says as I remove my ear plugs.

I updated! Sorry I haven't updated in another month! I'm on holidays for about another week (tomorrow's Easter!) so I should be able to get a few episodes done.
