It's Christmas, and my friends and I decided to have a gift exhanging party today. Our parents are invited, meaning they have to buy presents as well. We did the whole "pick a name from the jar" thingy, and I luckily picked Dawn. I know her from the heart, so picking her a gift should be easy. My friends and I also decided that if you want to gift a present to another person other than who you picked, you'll have to do it secretly. I already decided to give everybody a present, so I won't be doing it secretly.

I woke up early in the morning to get ready. Yesterday, my mom told me we were going to the mall together to buy the presents, and I instantly agreed.

Ninetales was already awake, and I could tell she was preparing a Flamethrower to force my eyes open. "I saw your bad intentions, Ninetales," I said.

She backed away and fell from my bed. I got up and went to my closet to pick an outfit:

I left my hair straight and bolted downstairs with Ninetales

I left my hair straight and bolted downstairs with Ninetales. My mom already prepared my breakfast, and she was eating her's.

"Good morning," I panted as I sat on the stool.

"Morning," she smiled. "We'll be leaving when you finish your breakfast, so hurry up! The mall gets full today."

I did as she said, hurry up. I finished my breakfast at the same time as my mom, and before we left, I hurried outside and looked for the Pokémon that helps me choose presents.

Her yellow body and her heart-shaped tail made it easy to find. "Pikachu!" I yelled.

She turned around and sprinted to where I was. I picked her up and she started licking my cheeks, squealing happily.

"Pikachu," I said firmly. "I need your help. We're going shopping today, and you're the only Pokémon that truly knows what to get someone. Are you up for the challenge?"

~Trust me. You've picked the right Pokémon for the job~ she said serious.

I playfully saluted and she mimicked my action. We giggled, but my mom interrupted by yelling, "Clara Jane Stellar! We need to leave! NOW!"

"Let's go," I whispered to Pikachu. We sped to where my mom was and followed her out the house.

My mom drove as if there was no tomorrow. By the end of the drive, Pikachu's fur and my hair represented a rockstar's puffy hairdo. We quickly brushed it off and exited the car, following my mother's fast footsteps.

"Clara, since we have to keep it a secret, I suggest we part ways," my mom said.

I nodded. "Yeah, okay."
