Rain's pov
"And this is the cool part. When a star starts to run out of energy, it's like it is setting itself up for its own destruction. The core becomes more and more solid as it draws in energy from the outer layers until it basically collapses in on itself, the star exploding as it dies. But since it is so far away from us, the light takes a while to reach us, meaning that we may not even know that it died until years later."
I am sitting in the library teaching Namjoon about stars and the solar system after school. I was actually pretty surprised when he asked me if I could tutor him in science. I know I am smart, but I was under the impression that he was smarter than I am. I'm not complaining though; I love astronomy almost as much as I love teaching people about it.
"I'm going to head out Miss Rain. Don't forget to lock the doors behind you."
I nod to the librarian and smile warmly at her, watching her put the keys to the library on the front desk. I have been working in the school's library since my freshman year, so I am used to closing up for her. I will just make sure to lock the doors behind Namjoon and I when we leave. I turn back to the notes I took earlier today, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"We are also learning about black holes. Did you know that no light can escape a black hole? Scientists and astronomers are sending droids into the black hole near the edge of our galaxy to try and get some more information on black holes. They have this theory that black holes can transport you between different galaxies and--"
I stand up in shock when I look over at Namjoon, my eyes widening at how close he was to my face. He follows after me, his chair loud as it scrapes against the floor. I can feel my heart as it tries to jump out of my chest when he gets closer to me, my feet moving me backwards.
"Man do you talk a lot" he says while backing me up against a bookshelf. I flinch slightly when his fingers trail along my arms, his touch light and barely even there at all. His eyes are locked on me, lust and determination gleaming in them.
"It's a good thing you're hot, or else I would never have been able to put up with all of your noise."
He leans forward towards my face, but suddenly stops. He looks towards the door before gulping and backing away from me, his hand reaching up to scratch the back of his head.
"T-Taehyung. I was just--"
"Get. Out."
I watch in slight amusement as his face gets pale, his bag hitting his back as he basically runs out of the library. I stare over at Taehyung as he grabs my hand, a scowl on his face.
"Lets go."
My cry of protest is lost as he practically drags me out of the library. There is not a person in sight as he stalks through the empty halls of our school, the parking lot void of any signs of light aside from the vegetation. My arm hurts as he pulls me behind him, my short footsteps no match for his long strides.
We finally make it to his car and stop, his pushing me in to the passengers seat with so much force that I almost trip over my shoes. I watch with wide eyes as he gets into the driver's seat, his glare not disappearing as he holds onto the wheel.
"Yah! Kim Taehyung! What was that for?" I yell, upset at how he dragged me out of there. I didn't even get a chance to lock up. All anger leaves me when he hits the steering wheel, his eyes hard as they glare at me accusingly.
"I though you said you didn't like Namjoon!"
What? That's what this is about? I roll my eyes and cross my arms as I face him, my anger slowly coming back along with my confidence.
"I don't! I do not have any feelings for him!"
He comes so close to my face that I can feel his warm breathe on my lips, his nose brushing mine as he stares into my eyes.
"Good."
