"Ooh, I'm stuffed," Ashton groans, pushing his plate away from his body. Calum finishes off his rice before taking a final drink of his soda. "I'm done!" Mikey pipes up with a smile. "And I've still got room for ice cream in a bit." Ashton moans loudly, resting his head on the table with a bang. "Fuck ice cream," he says as he looks up. The group shares a laugh at the drummer's expense, making him scowl. "Why don't we go back to Luke's and pass a bit of time with some Mario Kart?" Calum suggests, standing up and grabbing the check.
"Georgia?"
She feels Luke's arm wrap around her shoulder, causing her to glance up at him. "Yeah, I don't care." He turns to the rest of the boys and nods his head. Holding his hand out to Ashton, he silently asks for the keys to his Jeep. Ashton pouts, but hands them over anyway. "You're lucky I let you drive once, Irwin," Luke teases as he walks to the counter to pay. "Georgia, you should fall asleep on Luke more often." Ashton giggles, throwing his arms around her back and holding her close to his body. "I like driving his Jeep." She shakes her head, but rests on his shoulder while Luke pays. They funnel through the line and within minutes are on their way back to Luke's house.
"Turn it up!" Ashton shouts, waving his hands in the air like an excited little girl. Luke reaches forward and turns the volume knob, a familiar song playing through the speakers. "Luke, you going to sing your part?" Ashton asks from the back seat, humming along to the song. "Sure," he shrugs, "I guess."
"I miss you, I miss you," Calum sings from behind Georgia.
"Where are you?" Luke belts. "And I'm so sorry, I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight. I need somebody and always this sick, strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting every time. And as I stared I counted the webs from all those spiders catching things and eating their insides. Like the indecision to call you and hear your voice of treason. Will you come home and stop this pain tonight, stop this pain tonight?"
Georgia watches on in awe as the four boys harmonize with each other during the last ending part of the song. When its over, Luke is pulling back into his own driveway. He turns the knob back down so it isn't blaring when he gets in the next time. "Well, that was an adventure," Mikey speaks up, hopping down from the Jeep. "Now for me to go show you guys how it's done in some Mario Kart." Calum wags his finger at the spiky-haired boy and says, "I will beat you this time, mark my words." They share a laugh before walking into the Hemmings' household. "We're all secretly seven year-olds," Ashton says as he holds the door for both Luke and Georgia. "I don't doubt it," Georgia says with a laugh. Michael and Calum are already turning on the playstation while Ashton begins toward the kitchen. "Do you want a drink?" he calls. Georgia looks at Luke with wide eyes. "Wasn't he just belly-aching about being full?" Luke nods, laughing, and pulls her into the kitchen.
"I'm going to have a Sprite," he says, opening the fridge. Ashton is in the process of making hot tea. "Me too," Georgia adds on, sitting up on the counter. "Where's your mom?" Luke pops the top for her and then hands over the soda can. "She tutors in the evenings," Luke responds, sipping his own soda. After taking a drink, Georgia sits the can down on the counter and pulls on the sleeves of his shirt to bring him closer. He stands between her legs whilst trying to hold in the beaming smile that wants to shine through on his face.
“We’re not going to be interrupted this time, y’know,” he says, touching his nose to hers as he presses their foreheads to each other. Georgia smiles as she feels his hands on her hips. “Your friends are in the next room over,” she reminds him, watching as his eyelids close and his eyelashes create shadows on his cheeks. Georgia turns her head just a bit and kisses the corner of his mouth. He grunts in dissatisfaction, opening his eyes to look Georgia straight on with a pouted frown on his lips.
