Reader POV:
I can't breathe
It hurts
Am I awake?
No, I'm sleeping, at least I think
I can hear murmuring
But not Sangwoo
He's not in the mix of voices I hear
Where am I?
I see white
Now I see better
But fuzzy
Clearer
And clearer
"She's awake." I heard a female voice say quietly. I opened my eyes and let them get used to the new surroundings and the very bright lighting beaming at my eyes.
Once my vision was clear, I immediately sat straight up and started panting. I looked and saw four people; none of which were Sangwoo. I kept panting and felt a hand on my shoulder.
The hand belonged to a woman. She had bright blue eyes and beautiful blonde, medium-length hair. She had a doctor's coat on and her name tag read "M.D Ayda Rodriguez" She smiled at me and my panting slowed and she opened her mouth to talk.
"Honey, it's okay. You passed out from trauma. I'm Doctor Rodriguez, I'll be taking care of you." She said and I nodded. "Where is he?" I asked and my heavy panting resumed. "He's upstairs. He needed extra care, but he's not flat lining anymore." She stated and I breathed in and out. I had a normal breath rate now. She took her hand off my shoulder and she walked to the other doctor. He looked about the same age as the female doctor. He had short black hair and he had brown eyes and glasses. His name tag read "M.D Mateo Rodriguez" He smiled and I nodded to him. "This is my husband, you can call him Doctor Rodriguez as well." She said and placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled at him.
"I'm the doctor who is currently taking care of Sangwoo. He is in safe hands and you'll be in perfect hands with my wife." He said and I sighed. "Can I see him?" I asked and Mateo looked at his wife, and she nodded. "Yes. You seem well enough." He said and I smiled and looked at my wrists and arms. The marks and stitches were still there. They were going to be there for awhile. Every time I look at them, nightmares will always come back to me. It'll never leave even when or if my scars heal. "So, we will just stand you up and you can follow us." He said and I nodded and stood up as he held my hand and shoulders.
"Follow me." He said and I nodded once again and followed him out the door.
We walked and turned through multiple halls. This was a really good hospital, so clean and lifting. I felt safe for Sangwoo's sake and mine myself. We went into the elevator. I always had a great fear of elevators. Every time me and Sangwoo were in an elevator, I would cling onto him and he would hug me and just chuckle and rub my head and tell me it was okay. I wish he was hugging me right now.
The elevator reached the top floor and I sighed in relief when we walked out of that elevator and I continued following them. We reached a darker hallway with only like two nurses walking around and they reached a door. I looked through the big window and it was pitch black. Mateo entered and the light immediately came on. Sangwoo. He was there. He was laying on the bed, he was fast asleep. I watched his beautiful closed eyes lightly flutter and I smiled and walked over to the side of the bed. I grabbed his hand and felt tears come from my eyes. His hands slowly got drenched in my tears and I let his hand go and turned around so my back was facing him and I quietly sobbed into my hands. Ayda walked over to me and rubbed my back. "He's okay, just breathe." I did as she said and regained my composure. I turned back and faced him. He had some of his soft hair in his eyes, I slowly and gently brushed it out from his eyes. I smiled and he kept his cute, sleeping face.
"Let's head back to your room, (Y.N), I'll bring you back to Sangwoo tomorrow." Mateo said and I nodded with a big smile on my face.
