Chapter 5

Jade's Life

It's almost 2pm, I have to go pick up Jackie now. All day, I've been cleaning, singing, dancing, and more cleaning. I have been thinking about Perrie though. Why?

I don't know. I just..I just kinda miss hanging out with her. She would always make me laugh when I'm feeling down. Sometimes she would text me random stuff when I'm right next to her.

I know it's been 4 years but it feels like it's been much longer. Not having Pez here, sometimes it feels empty. Enough thinking about Perrie, I have to go pick up Jackie.

15 minutes later

"Jackie!" I shouted through the window, as I saw her sitting with her friends on the bench. "Jackie! Come on, we have to go!" She saw me and hugged her friends and waved goodbye. "Sorry mommy, me and my friends were talking about really funny stuff!" "Oh really?"

"Yeah! My friend said that her cat runs around really fast and sometimes her cat meows in a really funny way!" "That's funny!" I said to her. "Baby, wanna go get something to eat?" "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry. Is daddy going to be there?" "No honey, he has more work to do but he'll be back home later."

"Okay. Where are we going to go eat?" "Hm, I don't know. What do you feel like? Do you wanna go eat somewhere special?" "Yes!" She shouted, waving her arms in the air. Oh how I love my little girl, I hope she finds someone who will love her and keep her safe and sound.

20 minutes later

We found a parking spot and we got out of the car. "So honey, did anything else happen today?" "Well, my other friend got a B on her math test and I also got a B!" "Good job sweetie! You know what?" "What?" "You can get any kind of ice cream you want at the restaurant!"

"Really?" "Yes really! You did a really good job on the math test!" "Yay! Thank you mommy!" "Haha, you're welcome!" She was jumping for joy, I mean she deserves it! She's been studying for a while and she got a good grade one the test. I'm really proud of her, my little girl.

We were almost there to the door when I bumped into someone. "Are you okay mommy?" Jackie asked me. "Yes I'm fine." I looked up at the person and I realized it was Perrie. I panicked and said, "Hi Perrie." I knew it was a bad choice. She freaked and walked away.

We went into the restaurant and got a table. Apparently, Perrie's parents were at the table right across from us. Her mother began to walk over to us. "Jade? Jade, is that you?" I looked up, trying to look startled! "Mrs Edwards, hi! How are you?" "I'm good thanks, how are you?" "Not bad." I replied. She looked over to Jackie and asked, "Who's this?"

"Oh, she's my daughter. Her name is-" "I don't give a damn what her name is Thirlwall." "I-I'm sorry, what?" "I said I don't give a damn about her name or who she is. You broke my daughters heart and you deserve to be in pain. Ever since you said no, Perrie hasn't had control over herself."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea that she was like that. I only said no because I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to get married at such a young age." "And yet here you are, with your child at 29 years of age. What kind of slut are you?" "Excuse me?" I was so taken back by that. How could she say that to me when she knows damn well that I'm no slut.

"You don't have the right to call me that. Do you understand?" I said coming closer to her face. "Oh I understand completely. You're gonna apologize to my daughter instantly." "But I shouldn't be the one to apologize. I wasn't ready and she should know that. If she cared enough, she would've waited and we would've still been together until this very day!" I shouted!

Half of the restaurant went quiet but I didn't give a shit. I took Jackies hand and we rushed out of there as fast as we could. This time, I ran into someone again. I looked at them straight in the eyes and said, "Your mother is a damn prick. Talk to me when you're ready to sort things out. You need to get your mother under control."

Then I walked out with Jackie and left the building.
