Some upbeat pop song plays on the radio as we speed down the highway. Dina quietly sings along to it while Julie nods her head, the rest of us just sit.

"You are now entering Metropolis." Jasper reads as he passes the welcome sign.

"Yay!" Bailey cheers.

"Finally." Francine mutters and rolls her eyes.

I turn my head away from all the car passengers and look out the window. The sun is in the middle of setting, making the the sky look like a smeared art pallet. One side is colored with light pinks and mute oranges while the other side shows hints of deep blues and dark violets.

I had been sure to watch the sky all through the journey to Metropolis. We had left Gotham at about twelve o'clock this afternoon so that we would make it by at least six tonight. We had come to Metropolis in because Mark had invited Aunt Kathleen to his family reunion. When Aunt Kathleen heard this she instantly pulled out our suitcases and made riding arrangements. This morning she rode down here with Mark, Jennifer, and Thomas while I went to school for a few hours. Then, Bailey came to get us, and me, Francine, Dina, Julie, and Sierra rode down here with her and Jasper. We had already been in the car for five hours and still had one more to go. I was tired of this car. My legs were cramping, and my neck was hurting because I slept on it wrong.

"Hey, Bails, do you think anyone will be up for late night swimming?" Dina ask her sister.

"Maybe. You know Uncle David's a real sucker for that stuff." Bailey smiles.

Swimming. One thing that I was good at. Since the reunion was on the beach I planned to get a lot of swimming in.

"Lucy, if we went late night swimming, would you join?" Dina turns to me.

I shrug. "Sure."

"Good." She nods then turns back to Bailey.

The sisters strike up a conversation, generating the only noise other than the radio, which was turned down.

Sierra laughs with joy as we pull into the parking lot of the hotel. I smile, stepping out of the car and stretching my legs.

"That car ride took forever." Francine grumbles. She takes a picture of the hotel then types something into her phone.

"Don't be whiny, Francine." Julie teases.

I let out a relieved sigh and look up at the hotel. I don't notice much besides that it's made from mostly glass and owned by Bruce Wayne. This could either be really good or really bad.

"Come on, guys, let's give the front desk our bags, then head to see everyone." Bailey begins ushering us inside the hotel door.

We walk through the big glass doors into a large lobby that is heavily decorated. A huge crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling while, and the floors are made from a beautiful marble. I look a little over to my left and see a large marble staircase covered in what looks like velvet.

"Ah, Welcome to the Metropolis Suits Hotel, your home away from home." A man in a crisp black suit welcomes as we step up to the front desk.

"Thank you." Jasper smiles.

"Do you have a reservation or are you here for an event?" The man ask.

"A little bit of both." Bailey says. "We're here for the Williams family reunion."

"Williams family reunion." The man repeats, typing on his computer. "Yes, here you are. If I could please have your names, then you can leave your bags here and go to conference room A."
