Lunch was spent shooting daggers to Cheryl and her pesky minions, Veronica couldn't believe that she once suggested the two become friends, she wished she'd never suggested it. She just wanted an unproblematic year, she wanted it to be different to her others and it was, but Veronica always had an argument with someone no matter where she went. Veronica quickly became fed up of looking at Cheryl's face and turned to Kevin, who sat across from her as always.
"You've really pissed her off, haven't you?" Kevin muttered, raising his eyebrows as he glanced over at the redhead who was glaring over at Betty and Veronica. Veronica glanced over her shoulder and back to Kevin.
"I wouldn't have pissed her off if she hadn't been a bitch." Veronica shrugged, popping a fry in her mouth. Betty hadn't spoke much, she'd practically been silent since the incident in chemistry, it hadn't gone unnoticed both Kevin and Veronica picked up on it and they'd been trying to decide what to do about it. Veronica was good at comforting people, she liked comforting people, it was just Betty wouldn't be comforted, every time she tried Betty would pull away so she left it to Kevin.
"Betty up you get, I need to grab us both a seat in English and you know what Loony Leslie is like, she'll bite my head off if I save you a seat without you being there." Kevin ushered the girl, Betty bobbed her head and gave Veronica's hand a squeeze before pulling her in for a quick kiss whilst Kevin wasn't looking.
"I'll catch up with you after school, ok?" Betty smiled softly down at her girlfriend, Veronica beamed at her and nodded.
"Let's hope I don't have another row with Cheryl, that bitch needs to learn to back off." Veronica grumbled, finishing off her fries. Betty managed a forced laugh and headed off with Kevin, it pained Veronica that Betty had to fake a laugh. It made her wonder if she'd done something wrong although she knew if she did Betty would be acting different towards her - which she wasn't. Veronica got to her feet letting out a heavy sigh, she had math another lesson she'd always hated even though she was pretty skilled at it.

Betty went ahead of Kevin and chose them the two seats at the back, she never liked being at the front seem as those were the seats where you were asked questions and Betty didn't feel like answering any today. Kevin plopped down beside her, smirking when Loony Leslie came in and frowned because she wasn't able to shout at him, Kevin glanced at Betty as she paused her hand settling on a bottle of medication she had in her bag. Kevin knew she took medicine he didn't know what for, she liked to keep that to herself but he knew sometimes it had an effect on her and he wondered if her mood today was because of it.
"Have you taken them today?" Kevin asked as he pulled out his Shakespeare book, Betty pushed the medication to the bottom of her bag and got out her own book. Kevin's voice had been quiet so only she could hear his question but she was hesitant as to act as though she didn't hear him. "Betty?"
"N-no. I got them this morning...I was supposed to take them at lunch b-but I couldn't do it, it's not helping and I-I know everyone says that but its true, she, I can't keep pushing her down and these tablets are doing nothing to help." Betty sighed, her eyes watery from the amount of tears that had risen she kept her eyes focused on her lap. That was the most she'd told Kevin about her problem, she didn't exactly tell him what was wrong with her, she barely knew what was wrong with her herself. But she knew that he'd sense what the problem was.
She felt a heavy hand on her shoulder, she followed the arm to Kevin, his face full with nothing but sympathy for her. "I know your mum probably tells you this but you've got to take them, Betty," Kevin said, "Not for anyone else, but for you."
"I know...but they aren't helping, everyday I feel that familiar anger bubble up and ever since I let her out, I can feel her starting to surface and I'm fighting it...I really am. I-I'm just not strong enough and neither are the tablets." Betty whispered, Kevin wanted to respond but Miss Harriet walked into the room and demanded them all to be in silence. Betty swiped a tear from her face and gave Kevin a fake smile. "I'll be fine, Kevin. I know you and V worry but really...I'm fine."
Kevin nodded as in to say ok because he knew she was lying. Trying to assure Kevin that she was doing alright but he could see through her fake smile. Whilst Betty was focused on writing a practice essay for Romeo and Juliet Kevin slipped his phone out of his pocket and texted a message to Veronica. He didn't go into detail, he simply told her it was best if she spoke to Betty, the poor girl was broken.
