Betty couldn't help but be suspicious of the new girl in town, she could just feel that something was off, maybe she was just feeling threatened seem as Veronica seemed to have taken a liking to the girl - but still, something weighed on her. Betty almost stumbled off of the bed as she felt Veronica nudge her, startling the blonde out of her thoughts. Instantly steadying herself, shooting a glare to her girlfriend for scaring her. The brunette held up her hands defensively, noting Betty's irritated look.

It had been a couple of weeks since the dance; since this Arkadia had shown up out of the blue, at first the girl hadn't bothered Betty much. Their life went about normal, the girls walking arm in arm through the hallways, the boys walking alongside them on the odd occasion. Then Veronica had slowly but surely brought Arkadia in their little inner circle. The girl was sweet, sure, good looking along with that too, she might not have a bad bone in her body, but Betty was still wary. Betty and Veronica's relationship was still relatively new, it could easily be broken if Veronica took an interest in someone else...someone possibly better.

Veronica must've noticed Betty's profound sadness, the rich girl reaching out to her girlfriend managing to pull the girl closer to her, gently cupping her cheeks forcing Betty to meet her concerned chocolate brown eyes.

"What's wrong, B?" Veronica's voice was laced with worry, it wasn't often these days that Betty felt upset. Since they'd been dating, Betty had a glow of happiness about her, this was the first time Veronica had seen Betty sad in a while.

It broke Betty's heart to ask, but she knew if she didn't it would remain on her mind until she burst.

"Am I enough?"

Betty's voice was small, as though she was ashamed to even ask. It wasn't hard to miss the tears brimming in the vulnerable girl's eyes, Betty's lip quivering as though she was about to bawl. The sight tore Veronica's heart apart, her thumb tracing over Betty's soft skin, ensuring that her eyes were boring into Betty's so that the blonde girl didn't miss a word that left her lips.

"You, Betty Cooper, will always be enough." Veronica assured the girl in her hands, "Do you have any idea how much happiness you bring me everyday? Just getting to wake up beside you makes my whole day. It always a plus getting to see that smile of yours too, why on earth would you think you aren't enough? You're everything, Betty."

The blonde allowed the tears to fall down her cheeks, Veronica's words meant the world to her and all she needed was to be reassured that Veronica still felt the same as she had the moment she fell in love with her. Betty laid her head on Veronica's shoulder, clambering onto Veronica's lap as though she was a child, sinking into the warmth of the person she loved most in life. She felt Veronica tightening her hold on her, the girl doing her best to show she was there whenever Betty needed her.

After what had felt like forever, Betty emerged from Veronica's shoulder, her blue eyes finding brown. The lump in her throat had finally vanished, the worry still lingered there, but it faded quickly, a smile managing to make its way onto Betty's lips and as though her smile was contagious, Veronica smiled.

"I love you."

Betty didn't miss how her heart fluttered at the words, "I love you." A blush ran across her cheeks, her arms wound around Veronica's neck as she stayed perched in the brunette's lap, the girl's hands resting on her waist.

"So..." Veronica started, not trying to pressure Betty too much, but she wanted to know what had caused so much upset towards her girlfriend. "Are you going to inform me on what upset you so much?"

Betty shuffled uncomfortably, hesitant whether to say. "Arkadia." Veronica's eyebrow raised in confusion, wanting her girlfriend to elaborate. Betty let out a heavy sigh, not meeting Veronica's eyes. "You've taken a liking to her, she's pretty and smart, so I don't blame you...I just...I was jealous and scared that maybe you liked her more than it seemed."

"Oh, Betty." Veronica's hands ran up Betty's sides, "I could never, I just thought it would be nice to have a new friend. But you needn't threat about it, babe. The only girl I have my eyes on is you."

Betty took the chance whilst Veronica was in her study group, the blue eyed girl striding towards the poor Australian who was unaware of what was to come. As soon as Betty got in arms length of the girl, she slammed a hand down on the open locker of the girls, visibly making Arkadia jump - her soul practically leaving her body at the loud echo. The tan girl was met by Betty's stern glare, Arkadia's eyes were wide with shock and confusion as to what could've angered the feisty blonde before her.

Betty leaned in close to the girl, her voice low and threatening as she dared the girl to speak up, Betty spoke calmly for a girl claiming her territory. "I know you and Veronica have been getting along well, but rest assured, Arkadia. She's mine. Is that understood?"

The blonde girl stared back at Betty completely dumbfounded, her eyes glancing nervously to the people that stood jotted about having heard Betty slam the locker. Cheryl among them being nosy as usual. Betty's eyebrows knitted together into a frown, noticing the girl's confusion before it turned into a small smile. Betty didn't understand what was so amusing.

"What are you smiling at?"

"Betty, I have no intentions of taking Veronica away from you," Her Australian accent thick as she spoke, a light laugh leaving her as she thought over Betty's words, a bemused smile staying plastered on her lips. "I actually think you and Veronica are perfect for one another, why would I want to ruin something that I find adorable?"

Betty knew she had a point, before Betty could even answer the question, Arkadia continued. The green eyed girl giving Betty a once over, raising an eyebrow, her smirk growing knowing her next words.

"Besides...I'm more into blondes anyway."

Betty found herself slightly flabbergasted, not only had she discovered that Arkadia had zero intentions of going after Veronica, she found out that if Arkadia was to take an interest in someone, it would have been her. A sense of relief washed over her knowing that she no longer had to be concerned over whomever was getting too close to her girlfriend. The blonde cleared her throat awkwardly, dusting her jeans down as though something was on them.

"Well, um...I'm sorry about, you know..." Betty gestured to Arkadia's now closed locker, feeling embarrassed that she'd made such a scene for no reason. Arkadia seemed to shrug it off with a laugh.

"I'd probably be the same if someone new came into my life too, so it's no biggie," The girl said sweetly, shifting the backpack on her shoulders. "I bet that redheaded girl loved the slither of drama she just got though."

Betty followed Arkadia's pointed finger to Cheryl who was leant against the wall, phone in hand as she tried to capture the little tiff that had just gone on. The blonde could only roll her eyes in annoyance at the girl, she could've swore Cheryl thrived off of drama and gossip, always being the first one to spread it like wildfire.

"Cheryl is the queen of getting into everyone's business." Betty informed Arkadia, "Any gossip, probably came from her - not that I blame her. This town can be boring."

Arkadia laughed at that comment, thinking that was entirely untrue. "Dude, you've literally had someone get murdered in this small ass town, I'm pretty sure that's not boring."

Betty begged to differ, she'd rather not think about how murderous their town had become. "More like terrifying then."
