The corners of Veronica's mouth turned up when she came across Betty and her mother in the street, the two looking seemingly happy and Veronica gathered Betty had gotten the medication she needed, hopefully feeling better than she had the night before. Betty was first to spot her, her stomach fluttering like a bunch of butterflies had escaped when she heard her name being called in excitement. Veronica looked up from her phone, a lopsided grin forming on her face when she saw her bubbly blonde waving happily over at her. Ronnie quickly shoved her phone in her back and moved fast towards her girlfriend and her mum, arms open welcoming the girl into a loving hug. Veronica pressed a kiss to Betty's cheek making the girl blush a soft giggle leaving her lips, Veronica could never get over how shy Betty could be sometimes.

"Your in a much happier mood, sunshine." Veronica inquired, giving Betty a once-over at arms length, her exterior seemed to be radiating so much happiness that Veronica forgot about the boring, lame day she'd had to got through and felt a burst of happiness swell inside of her too. Betty smiled, standing tall.

"The doctor gave me some new stuff, he thinks it will help lift my spirits more. He'd wanted to get the pills he'd given me back anyway, so he wasn't too bothered that my mum flushed them." Betty cajoled, a  smile plastered on her face as she gave a look over her shoulder to Hermione who smiled at the pair, glad they were both happy.

"And have you taken one?" Veronica asked, she could already notice that Betty had but she just wanted to check, Betty gave her a nod.

"The doctor advised her to take one whilst she was there seem as she hadn't taken one in twenty-four hours." Hermione added, "We were just about to head over to Pop's, we'd thought you'd be practising with Archie."

Veronica let out a light laugh and shook her head. "I told him Betty was sick and I wanted to be there with her so he let me off for today, he uh, wanted to come and check on you but I told him we didn't need anyone else getting sick." Veronica felt bad for lying, especially since she could almost predict that Archie was going to be in Pop's with Jughead, he'd probably end up ignoring Veronica for lying to him about Betty but Ronnie knew she couldn't just tell him she'd had to see the doctor. Betty didn't seem fazed by Veronica's lie to Archie she just shrugged and linked her arm through Veronica's, keeping the brunette close as Hermione walked slightly in front of them, starting to talk to someone on the phone. Veronica guessed it was Fred, she still disapproved of the relationship seem as she cared about her mother and her fathers relationship, but she understood that for now, her mother was happy so she let it play out.

"I got your note this morning," Betty said quietly as she kept her eyes locked on the floor, feeling Veronica glance over at her.

"Yeah?" Veronica smiled, wanting to see what Betty thought of it, she'd poured her heart out something she only did on rare occasions. Betty nodded.

"Yeah, it...it was beautiful Ronnie, I think I might have to start writing you some morning texts or notes whatever." A warm smile spreading on Betty's face. "I suppose it would be hard to write exactly how I feel about you though..."

Veronica's eyebrows drew together, unsure if she should be offended. Betty's head snapped up realising how mean that sounded and she pressed a hand to her head, groaning in embarrassment.

"I didn't mean it to sound like that...I just meant...that I love you so much that I'd find it difficult to put down in words, you're beautiful, kind, sweet, funny...to me your perfect...I just don't think I'd be as good as you at writing morning messag-"

"Relax B, I know how much you care, beside I'm not into those sappy things, I only write them because I know that you love them," Veronica laughed sweetly at her rambling girlfriend, giving her a playful nudge. "I'm happy just knowing you love me too, but thank you for those compliments."

Veronica leaned over cupping Betty's face in her hands and planting a delicate yet passionate kiss onto Betty's lips, resting her forehead against hers. Betty hummed happily, her blue eyes seeming to shine brighter at the action, moving swiftly to return the kiss making Veronica smile. But Hermione clearing her throat made them break apart, the both of them red from embarrassment, Hermione just smirked, knowing she'd made their cheeks flush red. She gestured for them to continue walking, stepping back to walk beside Veronica.

"I was just talking to Fred, he wants to know if we'd like to go around for dinner tomorrow night."

Veronica shook her head almost immediately, it was bad enough that she knew about her mothers affair, she couldn't have dinner with them like a family would. It wouldn't just hurt her she knew if her father found out that she'd happily gone along with it, he'd be furious and no one liked him when he was angry, he could find ways to ruin peoples lives even if he was behind bars. She loved her father even though she knew he was a bad person, she knew the business he was in but she wouldn't go along with her mothers affair, she couldn't.

"Please, Ronnie. Fred just wants to know that you don't mind us being together..." Hermione sighed, determined to persuade her daughter, Veronica let out a harsh laugh, her hands had intertwined with Betty's at some point, a scowl crossing her face.

"Well you can tell him I don't, does he know that you're still with dad?"

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Ronnie--"

"There's your answer mum, I'm not going tomorrow, you can show up alone. We've been over this several times, I'm not getting involved in any of it." Veronica finished, striding forward, bringing Betty along with her Betty giving Hermione a quick apologetic look to try and signal that she was going to stay out of the argument seem as she knew whatever side she'd pick would start another bicker and that was probably the last thing Betty wanted right now.
