-Alex-

Another missed call was added to Alex's phone as he pressed ignore on his cell phone. There was nobody he could talk to that would make him feel better. Nobody except the one girl who wasn't wanting to talk to him; Riley.

Since the whole fiasco, Alex was dealing with his situation in a way nobody should. The only way he thought would ease the pain was to make the heartbreak feel like nothing. How would he do that? By bringing on pain that was worse than what he was feeling now.

Slowly, Alex ran the blade of the knife down his left arm, causing a trail of blood to rise onto his skin. He winced at the sharp pain that resulted from the self harm. Alex rinsed his arm off, wrapping a cloth around the wound he made. He knew it was time to stop the cutting for today because he was beginning to feel light headed and sick.

To help ease the pain the sharp blade had caused, he swallowed down three pain pills that weren't prescribed to him. He felt the pills hit as he became dizzy and he couldn't really think straight. This was nothing new to him. It had been like this in the past three months since Riley and him had broken up.

The three past months had been terrible. Really terrible. He hasn't spoken to any of his band mates, friends, or family. He also wasn't in any state to be seen. He was dirty and beat up. Bruises trailed down his upper arm from where he had injected drugs into his blood stream. His house was a mess because he was never in a sober state to clean. Empty alcohol bottles were scattered around the floor. All empty from him downing them daily.

In the three months since he had been with Riley, Alex had experimented with 6 different types of drugs. He drinks like the world's ending. Probably because his already has. He nearly over dosed more than a dozen times. Blacking out, passing out, and throwing up had become almost routine for him.

It was like a tornado hit Alex right at home. Nothing had been good for him. Or normal, for the very least. He was isolated. It felt to him as if he were the only person left in the world and there was nothing worth living for. There was nothing left.

Alex fell to his knees as his vision became blurred. He couldn't see and his breathing was restricted as he felt a pain in his rib cage every time he tried to take a breath. This wasn't something that had ever happened before. He had no idea what was going on, and at the moment, he was too drugged up to care.

-Riley-

"How was your date with Jack?" Riley asked, sucking in the smoke from her cigarette and releasing it from her nose.

"It was really nice." Kailyn smiled. "He was really sweet."

The two best friends walked down the street with no intentions of going anywhere in particular.

"I'm happy for you, kid." Riley side smiled at her friend.

"Thanks. I really wish I had listened to you and broken up with Jake like you said earlier. It would've made my life a million times better, sooner."

"I'm full of wisdom." Riley said. She knew it was a lie. If she was even the tiniest bit wise she would've seen this whole thing with Alex coming. Hell, if Kailyn saw it, why didn't she?

"Listen, Riley." Kailyn sighed. "Don't beat yourself up over this whole thing. It's been three months and I think its time for you to forget things. It will only make things less complicated."

"Easy for you to say. You didn't know him like I did. Yeah he acted immature, and he was obviously a jerk, but you weren't alone with him. You didn't see how romantic he was. How sweet and caring he was. I just don't understand where this came from."

"Riley. Maybe you need to talk to him. Get closure."

"Maybe."

Riley was interrupted by her phone vibrating in her pocket. Rian's picture and number flashed on her screen. She looked at Kailyn worried.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, Riley. Are you busy? Do you have time to talk?" Rian responded

"No It's fine. What's on your mind?"

"It's about Alex."

"What?" Riley's voice became bitter. She obviously wanted to forget about him so why was everybody making it hard?

"He's... He's in the hospital. Apparently he's been doing some hardcore drugs. He's also been drinking, and... cutting himself. He overdosed and he- he's getting his stomach pumped and that might not even save him."
