I'm dedicating this to HeyBrooklyn 'cause she inspired me with her Paige Tyler and the Time Keepers story. I love that story. :)

“Once upon a time, there were Lords that wield different Elements. One day, the Lords had enough; each wanted to rule the world but couldn’t unless they knew if they were fit to rule. That led them to an all out war that killed all but six lords. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Light, Dark.

The lords of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind wanted to join allegiance with Light and kill Dark, but the Lord of Light objected if the Lord of the Dark was going to be killed. Thus began, the great six.

Years went by; people praised all six until one faithful day. A new Lord, they didn’t know of sprung up. The Lord of sin. People began committing sin continuously leading them to their death. As the amount of sin committed grew, so did the power of the Lord of sin; the six Lords knew what to do in order to stop this.

They had to kill him.

All the Lords began forming plans and training to end Sinclair-the lord of sin, except one. Jericho Black, Lord of the Dark. He hid all spell books of the Lords for their descendants to one day claim instead of training with the other Lords.

On the day of the Battle, Jericho casted a spell on all of the Lords, including himself, that postponed the battle but also killing them in the process. In his journal, it was written that the spell he casted will one day bring them all back and the battle will resume but with their descendants taking their places.

After the event, people searched near and far for the books, but had no luck of finding them.” The little girl’s mother read to her the story of the Lords.

“I don’t understand, why does everyone hate Jericho so much?” Juliet asked her mother, referring to the Dark lord. She was confused, why would the other warlords, excluding the light Lord, hate him; he was probably doing this for the better.

“Sweetie, he was the Lord of the Dark. He was horrible, manipulative, evil, all those unethical things.” Her mother sighed, “Don’t go thinking he did this for the others good. He probably did it so that he would eventually rule. You can never suspect good from the dark.”

The little five year old nodded her head meekly and said her goodnight, not wanting to seem like a terrible child in front of her mother by questioning her belief. She repeated the story in her head, thinking of many questions with the answer to it. The nightlight by her bed was dim and the only source of light in the room, the dark was encouraging her to go to sleep before she regrets it in the morning.

Slowly, her eyes started drooping and before she knew it, she was asleep. However, being asleep didn’t stop one question with no answer from floating in her mind.

Why couldn’t anyone see that Jericho knew the lords and himself were no match?

Juliet sat in the front passenger seat of the Mercedes Benz that belonged to her long time best friend, Lucas White. She drummed her fingers against her thigh in the beat of The River by Good Charlotte, as if she were playing the drums to the song.

Ever since she was seven she has had a habit of drumming her fingers against anything, thus allowing her to play the drums fluently without knowing it.
