Everything hurt. His body was aching, there was blood dripping from his nose and mouth. He could barely move. He swore he had fractured a few ribs, possibly even broken some. He had felt pain before, plenty of times, but nothing like this. His head was pounding; he could barely keep his swollen eyes open. He could feel himself coming in and out of consciousness and was fighting to keep his eyes open.

"Barry, get out of there!" He could hear Caitlin's worried voice. He knew she would be panicking right now. She probably was thinking how she might lose someone else she cared about, but he was going to make sure he could get enough strength to make it back to her. He always did.

"C'mon, Bar, get up." The next voice he heard was Joe. He always looked after him in his time of needs and he always appreciated what he had done for him when his dad was arrested. Barry wanted nothing more than to just find the strength and run back to S.T.A.R Labs, but he was struggling. He could barely move. If he could barely move, how was he going to get onto his feet and run? He couldn't. He was terrified this was it.

"Guys, I can't move." Barry was surprised by his voice. He didn't even think he would be able to speak if he was being honest. He turned his head and spit out the blood that was building up in his mouth and winced at the pain he was feeling everywhere. This was it. This was how the Flash died.

"Please, Barry, try to get up. Please. I can't lose you, Barry." Caitlin pleaded, he could hear the sadness in her voice and he knew she was going to cry. In that moment, all he wanted to do was rush to her and hug her and tell her everything was alright and he was fine, but he knew he couldn't and everything wasn't alright.

Barry heard loud footsteps coming back to him and he stopped breathing. He knew this was going to be the end. He'd be lucky to get out of there alive and he was terrified. He knew eventually he would die, but he never thought that he would have only been the Flash for such a little time. He had messed up the timeline a number of times, but now he had screwed up so bad he was just going to remove himself from the future timeline and that scared him.

"I can hear you breathing, Flash." The deep sinister voice spoke, making Barry's hair on his arms stand up. This was it. He had hoped that he would have spent more time with everyone before dying, but he didn't have much time left. He had beaten several villains before, but this one was too strong for him and too smart. He was ten steps ahead of everyone and basically knew what he was thinking. He was impossible to beat.

"Listen, guys, I don't think I have much time left. You guys have been such a great team and friends," Barry began to speak quickly, knowing he wasn't going to be able to get much in to his goodbye before he was heard and found. "Cait, I love you so much and I'll always love you. You're the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and –"

Suddenly, a large fist came into contact with Barry's face, knocking him out instantly.

Then it went black.
