As if watching Barry die before her own eyes was enough pain and heartbreak, but for him to wake up and not remember who she even was, was just as devastating. The Barry she knew was gone. Her Barry was gone. What had she done in her life for it to be so shitty and unfair?

"What's the last thing you remember?" Caitlin asked, trying her best to be Caitlin Snow; Doctor, not Caitlin Snow; girlfriend of Barry Allen.

Barry looked down and thought hard. "I was struck by lightening." He replied. Caitlin looked over at Cisco and they both shared the same look.

"So, the past three years you have no memory of?" Cisco asked him. He had never spoken to someone who had forgotten who he was and it was definitely hard. Barry shook his head and looked between the two people. He looked over at the girl who introduced herself as 'his' Cait. Judging by the way that she had kissed him when he first awoke and how happy she was that he was awake, he could tell they were together. He mentally high fived himself for managing to score someone as beautiful as her, but who also a doctor. Then he felt sad not having remembered anything and how awful she must be feeling right now.

"Barry!" Joe and Iris came running into the room and Barry's face lit up. Caitlin watched as Barry hugged them both. She felt a tang of jealousy as he remembered Iris, but not her. And if he remembers nothing past when the particle accelerator exploded, he might still have the same feelings for Iris as he did before. Suddenly, Caitlin became outraged thinking of having to go through that all over again. She pulled Barry from Iris and Iris looked at her with a strange look.

"Sorry, we have to run some tests on Barry. He has retrograde amnesia and only remembers everything leading up to when he was in a coma." Caitlin explained, trying to make it look like she wasn't a crazy jealous girlfriend.

"I'm just so glad you're okay, Barry." Iris smiled at him and he returned the smile. Caitlin looked at the way Barry was looking at her and she realized her theory was right. He thinks he's still in love with Iris and not Caitlin. She would be lying if she said she wasn't completely devastated, but she had to pretend that it didn't bother her.

"When do you think I can go home?" Barry turned to ask Caitlin and everyone's eyes were on her, knowing that Barry didn't live alone like he had when he was struck by lightening; he lived with Caitlin.

"I'm sorry, I need some air." Caitlin ran out of the cortex and into the hallway. Iris' eyes followed after her and then back to Barry. Cisco stepped forward to go after her, but Iris put her hand up. "I should probably go. She'll need a woman to talk to." Iris smiled and jogged after Caitlin.

"Did I do something?" Barry asked and Joe shook his head as he took a step towards him. He placed his hand on Barry's shoulder and gave him a small smile. "Look, Bar, you may not remember, but you and Caitlin were together. You even lived together. She just lost her boyfriend, so it's going to be hard for her for a while to get used to the idea that you don't remember who she is."

Barry felt awful. He wished he could remember for her, but when he looks at her he just sees a woman who he's never seen before.

"You know, sometimes it helps people who have amnesia to remember by seeing things from their life that could help them regain memories. I have a bunch of photos and stories that I could try to rejog your memory?" Cisco chimed in, trying to help. Barry looked over at him and shrugged his shoulders.

"It's not your fault with Caitlin, man. It's just gonna be hard like Joe said. She's gonna be looking at you and seeing Barry Allen, the man she loves, who can't remember who she is and that he was even in love with her, too. I'm sure a lot is going through your mind as well, but she just needs some time and maybe you can try to remember by hanging out with her. If you're up to it, of course." Cisco told Barry and he nodded. He felt bad for not remembering who any of these people were, or who he really is since he can't remember the last three years of his life.  The least he could do was be with Caitlin and attempt to remember his forgotten life.
