That was the best way that you had ever been out of breath. As the gentleman that it turned out he could be, he linked his arm with yours and started to lead you to the place where Russel would pick you up again. It felt a bit more real this time. It was like the kiss made it real and confirmed something that was there. But it was also something that you weren't supposed to talk about, especially not when you were a woman. It was something that people figured out in private until there was a ring on the finger. You would be called a naughty girl if you were whispering about it at tea parties. Maybe it was for the best for the two of you to keep it a secret for some time, until everything with Starrick was over. An assassin in love could easily be used by the enemy; they just have to catch the partner. So when you were nearing the corner where Russel waited, you let go of Jacobs arm. He stopped and looked like he was about to ask why when you shushed him.
"Jacob, we cannot be seen together like this. We have to keep a low profile if anyone is watching." You explained. Jacob was not pleased with the answer and was holding you back.
"Don't you think it's a little too late for you to not be seen with me?" He said a bit sarcastically. He was beginning to look mad, so you pushed him a little away from the path and out of view from Russel that already parked just outside the park entrance.
"Jacob, listen. It's not that I don't want to be seen with you, okay? It's just that if someone like the blighters recognizes us, they can use this against us. It's just risky, but I still want you." You finished and looked at him and tried to make him relax again. He sulked for a moment before finally speaking up.
"I am willing to take the chance." He said and stood up straight so his chest rose like he was showing off.
"Yeah, but I'm not. It's not like we can't be together, just don't show it too much when we are in the public." You gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before walking over to Russel.
"Ah there you are miss y/l/n. I was starting to get worried that Mr Frye had dragged you elsewhere." He said smirking at you. You just giggled and let yourself in the carriage. Jacob followed shortly after and sat next to you. Even though he looked unpleased he took your hand in his and kissed the back of it. No one could see you in the carriage, so why not get the best out of it while you could? It was not like you we alone in the train hideout anyway. You turned to him and laid your free hand on his tight which really caught his attention.
"y/n, I though you said..."
"No one can see us in here." You whispered. You didn't have to say that twice. He grabbed the skirt of your dress and pulled your legs over his, so you were facing towards him, making it easier for him to crash his lips to yours. It was quiet unconfutable in a carriage but you never knew when the next possibility came to get a feel on each other. As the carriage stopped you both pulled away quickly and you started to adjust your dress and hair before you took a look at Jacob that was still smirking at you. You saw the trails of your lipstick on his face. You panicked slightly and started to rub it off with your thumb.
"Leave it be." Jacob said laughing at your panicking actions.
"No, Russel can't see you like that! Adjust your hat on your head, will ya?" You asked of him. Jacob just continued laughing but adjusted his hat the second before Russel opened the door for you.
"The train will be here in a minute, Sir." He said to Jacob. He reached his hand to help you out and you made sure not to look at him, because you were afraid that you might blush. It was not better in the train hideout when Henry greeted you two.
"You are finally back! We have been searching for some clues to find the piece of Eden and Evie might need your help, miss y/l/n." Henry looked thrilled about the news and you we glad that he didn't ask any questions.
