"You are packing up?" You had heard the heavy sound of Jacobs boots on your floor but you havn't had the guts to turn around and face him. You stood over one of your trunks that the same man had thrown onto the moving train many months ago. You would have smiled by the thought of that memory, if it wasn't for the fact that you were about to leave London again.
"The mission is complete." You simply answered Jacob and moved to the bed where some of your finest dresses lay folded and ready to pack. You still avoided looking at him because it was too hard for you. You loved him too much and you were not afraid to admit it to him. But your life had always been like this. Moving around the world to wherever the brotherhood needed you to complete a mission. You truly didn't belong anywhere and the creed was what should mean the most to you. Should.
"Do you have any idea where to go next?" Jacob asked. You could hear him getting closer to you.
"I'm... I'm not sure."
"So you are leaving without having a destination huh?" You closed your eyes. You could hear the disappointment in Jacob's voice and it was almost unbearable. You didn't want to lose this man, but could you really live the life that was chosen for you and live a life with the one you loved? Wouldn't feelings get in the way of everything you needed to do? You cursed under your breath, because you haven't been thinking at all the last many months. Jacob had made you lose your head. But the worst part is that it felt so right to lose it.
"I'm a part of the creed and so are you. We should do what is best for the brotherhood." You said and finally collected enough courage to face him.
The moment your eyes met you doubted everything you just said. Your breath got caught in your throat. Even with all the bruises and his arm in a sling, he was still the most beautiful man you had ever laid your eyes upon. His eyes were gentle; something not many got to see. He didn't have any reason to show off in any way towards you, because it was only the two of you and you knew every little detail of what he was capable of.
"Are you certain?" He said in the most charming tone, tilting his head a little. He knew you were about to doubt yourself and everything you had ever stand for; only for him. There wasn't really anything you wanted more than to stay with him in London, but what would you be doing here? You couldn't imagine yourself living another life than what you already did.
"I must admit; I'm not certain about anything as long as you look at me like that." You looked down at your boots because the eye contact was becoming too much for you. Another pair of boots came into your vision which meant that Jacob was right next to you. You took a deep breath and looked up at him again. A faint smile was on his lips as he reached under your chin with his unharmed hand.
"Stay with me?" He said as he leaned in and rested his forehead against yours. You knew that if you stayed a moment longer you wouldn't be able to leave. You closed your eyes and breathed in his scent that you had come to love so much. You had missed it so much in the period of time that you weren't together, only realizing now that you needed it. It was like your personal opium. You were about to give in and let him take you wherever he wanted you when there was a knock on the door. Only then you realized that Jacobs lips was hovering over yours but was painfully removed as Jacob marched angrily over to the door and tear it open to reveal Henry in shock over the sudden rage he was met with. He looked from Jacob to you and you could see the guild in his face.
"I'm terribly sorry if I'm interrupting anything but..." He never got to finish as Jacob spoke up.
"You better be sorry and it better be important, Mr Green." Jacob spat at him. You went over to place a calming hand on Jacobs shoulder. The moment you were having was apparently important to Jacob. It warmed your heart even though he started to be aggressive towards another man from the same brotherhood.
