You agreed with the poor coachman that he should only take you to your accommodation to get your things before driving you to the train station that night. It would not take much more than a few hours to get to Charing Cross station. It would be a hard time finding a temporary accommodation in London that late at night, but you did not want to wait any more. You have heard about London from the brotherhood before, but you had never had a reason to go there. As it was, London was a dangerous place for people from the brotherhood. Templars had ruled over London's underground world for so long, that they had started to overrule even the church and the monarchy in some parts of the godforsaken city. But the thing is; the danger only made you excited and curious. You had been trained to be an assassin like all the others, but not many dared to go right into the heart of a Templar nest.
As you walked out on platform at Charing Cross station there were not too many people. It was very late at night and the kind of people that were strolling around did look either quite drunk or very poor. You walked right pass them, knowing that even though you were a nicely dressed woman, you could do worse to them, than they could to you. You found a carriage and the coachman showed you a place for you to stay the night in Lambeth that clearly was closed, but now that you had such a charming smile, the coachman told you he knew the owner very well and could wake him up for you. It was a simple room, but you were not going to stay there for long.
You were going to find a theatre and search for some work that could be your cover for appearance in London. The first thing in the morning, you went out in the city and discovered how full of life it was.
"Newspaper here! Buy your newspaper here, sir!" A little boy yelled from the corner for the street. You went over to him and gave him a few pence for a newspaper."Any exciting news I should know about? It's my first time in London, you see." You asked the boy.
"Oh my! You are the actress Y/N L/N! I have seen your picture in the paper before!"
"Me? In a newspaper in London? I can't imagine why!" You said laughing to yourself.
"You are very famous here in London, Miss L/N. There has been some talking about when you would come and perform here. It is the capital, ey?" He gave you the newspaper and you rolled it and put it in your purse.
"Well then you can start spreading the word that I am going to perform as soon as possible." You winked at the little boy and started to walk away as the little boy called for you again.
"I didn't quite answer your question, miss, but the biggest news is the killing of a high standing factory owner and the scientist David Brewster down in Croydon. They still try to find out whom the murderer is or if their deaths are related. It's quite an investigation." The boy explained and pointed to the front page of his stack of newspapers. You nodded and thanked the boy before walking away. Something told you, that there were already some assassins in the city.
The Princess Theatre was placed on Oxford Street and was one of the most successful theatres in the country. With the huge amount of different plays it had every year; it would be the perfect place for you to continue your great work as an actress. You made the producer of the play The Light o' London promise you a spot in the play really quick; because as the paperboy told you, they had been talk about you for quite a while. It only gave you that more time to find out what the Templars had done to the city. You walked around in the City of London to see how bad of a stage London was in.
On your way you were greeted by many that have seen your plays in many other cities around England, but were in London because of the season was soon to start and the parliament would open. But every time you looked around there were always those red dressed people that was walking the streets; scaring the passers. They all matched so you figured to must be some kind of gang but there were too many of them to your liking. Especially because they did not look friendly at all.
