25. One of What??

I was laughing so hard, I couldn't breathe.

"You-you're serious?" I asked, breathless and they all nodded again, my laughter starting up again.

"This is not happening! You're all fucking with me" I said and Scotty sighed.

"Alissa, why would we fuck with something this prestigious?" He asked.

"Because you're all sick fucks?" I joked.

"Fair point. But can you please be serious. We don't offer this to just anyone." Scott said.

"Yeah the last person we offered this to was Heath" David pointed out, Heath shrugging.

I wanted to talk to him about his comment earlier so I was glad he wasn't trying to be all nice.He must have sensed I was pissed off at him.

"What makes you think this would be wise?" I asked and Scotty shrugged.

"Figured you want to be with your boyfriend without everyone judging. And you are the one thing we don't have" He said.

"A woman?" I guessed, Todd and David spluttering.

"A nerd, dumb-ass" Scotty said, rolling his eyes.

"You do realise that me being in 'The Boys', like you're offering, won't make less judgement about Heath and I. It'll make more" I said and Scotty leaned forward.

Yes you read that correct, these guys actually suggested that I join their group. Not be a girlfriend to a member but actually be one of the boys.

"Explain" He said and I nodded.

"Gladly. The whole school knows that you boys and I hate each other, or at least that we fight a lot. If I suddenly join the group two weeks in, rumors are going to start flying at a blazing speed. People will start assuming I fucked one of you to get in and that's just a nice rumor. IT'll get fucking messy." I said.

"But if you're with us, you have to know that they won't dare touch you." Scotty said and I shrugged. It was true, these guys had the power to do that. Which should really scare me but in this moment, I took it as a positive thing.

"They'll judge me and I can't stand that. They'll think I'm a monster and a bitch" I said.

"We already think that" Scotty joked and Zane spoke up.

"You don't have to act like us Holt, you can be human" He said and something twitched in me. All I ever wanted to do was the right thing.

"But I won't be able to stop you acting like you. And I'm supposed to be on the inside, watching it and allowing it? They won't think I'm human" I said.

"Maybe we can change" David suggested.

"As if, they have an imprint of you guys. Even if you tried, you'll never get their trust like you want it. You're the assholes of the school and they're too scared to see you any other way" I said honestly.

"You see us another way though" Heath whispered.

"Because I'm not scared. At times I was scared of you as people. But as a group, as a gang, you're just a bunch of idiots" I said, honestly too.

"So what do we do nerd?" Todd asked, leaning in.

"Stop calling me nerd for one" I said and they all nodded as I thought.

"Maybe the whole school knowing about Heath and I will break down a wall between you boys and the rest of the student body?" I suggested.

"I thought we didn't want 'eventually' to happen" Heath said and I shrugged.
