After a few hours, and me almost falling asleep countless times, Cori looked to the two of us.
"You two both still have school tomorrow, come on.Bed" She said and Heath sighed, standing and pulling me to my feet.
"Couch?" Heath asked and Cori sighed, shaking her head reluctantly.
"Not because I trust you,but because I trust Alissa. Go get some rest you two" She said as the two of us walked towards Heath's room.
It was weird for the both of us.
Yes we slept on the couch together last Thursday, yes we spent a weekend together and yes we both fell asleep on Heath's bed earlier this afternoon. But we've never intentionally fallen asleep next to one another, nor done anything equally as promiscuous. I was obviously scared.
And I think Heath was too.
"You okay?"He asked, looking at me.
"It's been less than a week." Was all I said and Heath laughed, somewhat nervously.
"It's weird. I know. But you know, as much as I hate to admit it, they're all right about us. You've changed me Al, you've changed me in a good way and it may be soon but come on, it feels right. Nothing in my life has ever felt right before." He said. Without another word, I nodded and climbed into the bed. I was already wearing sweatpants from when I tutored David earlier today.
God that was only today, it felt like an eternity ago given the way this evening went.
"That's it?" He asked and I shrugged.
"I'm tired" I said and he chuckled, shaking his head and climbing in beside me.
"What about your clothes?" He asked, I smirked.
"Now who's asking too many questions?" I joked and he rolled his eyes.
"Relax, I'm prepared. I have some spare ones in my trunk" I said.
"And your books?" He asked and I laughed at his sudden curiosity.
"All are in the car, except Chemistry from my study." I said and he breathed out in relief.
"Relax would ya? I've got this sorted" I said and he pulled me into his arms.
"I hope tomorrow is a better day" He said and I found his lips in the dark, pressing mine to them.
"So long as you stop your pretentious asshole shit, we should be good" I commented and he laughed.
"You gave me a reality check today, I think we'll be okay" He said and I smiled, connecting our lips again.
"I gave you two, don't make me give you another" I warned and he laughed.
"Yes mom" He joked, yawning after. I did too and he laughed, tiredly.
"Bed time" He said and I allowed myself to close my eyes and actually sleep.
"Alissa, it's time to wake up" A soft and soothing voice gains my attention.
"No" I mumbled, rolling over into my blanket cocoon more, inhaling their fresh linen scent.
"Come on Alissa, you don't want to be late" The sing-song voice said, lightly shaking me.
"Just five more minutes?" I begged, my eyes staying closed. My body just wasn't ready to get out of bed yet.
"Come on silly girl" The voice said, laughing gently. I shook my head, hiding even more so than before.
"Alissa" It said in one more soft warning tone. I sighed in defeat, allowing my eyes to flicker open.
The sunlight fills the room and I look around to notice I'm in my own bed again. But for some reason, I don't see it as being different than usual, even though my subconscious knew I went to Heath's last night. I sighed and pulled my hair out of my face, a small pinching feeling on my face making me frown slightly. I shrugged it off and went to the bathroom to freshen up before walking down the stairs.
