84. Congratulations, You Ruined Christmas

SCOTTY:

As soon as the cops untied me, I ran straight to Alissa.

"Are you okay? Where are you hurt?" I demanded, pushing a cop out of the way. Alissa didn't answer, just threw herself into my arms.

"He missed" She whispered, shaking uncontrollably. I noticed her phone was ringing in her hand and I saw Heath's name on the screen.

"You need to talk to him Holt" I said and she shook her head.

"I can't. I won't." She stammered.

"Give" I demanded, taking her phone in my right hand but keeping my left arm around her. She wrapped her arms around me and pushed her face right into my side.

"Allie what the fuck? Why wouldn't you answer my calls?" Heath asked somewhat angrily.

"It's me" I responded.

"Oh you'd better not be telling me that you made my girlfriend ditch Christmas fucking morning to parade around for whatever you wanted her to do" Heath said angrily.

"Calm the fuck down. I'm bringing her to your house to explain. And you'll fucking listen to me, got it Hussar?" I said, hanging up.

"Come on" I said, beginning to walk towards the door.

"You can't take her anywhere" One of the cops said.

"Wait, Alissa Holt?" Another said. She looked up.

"Officer Boice?" She asked softly as he nodded and smiled at her softly.

"I know you need to talk to the two of us but I need to take her home. It's Christmas" I almost begged. The guy nodded.

"You'll need to bring her to the station this afternoon" He said.

"I can go now" She said, too confident for what had just happened.

"Holt, you need to talk to Heath. Or let me do the talking. Then I'll bring you to the cops" I tried and she nodded.

"Okay. I want to get changed anyway" She mumbled.

"I'll bring her to the station later on today" I promised as the two of us walked out of the place.

"Where did you park?" I asked as she shakily pointed down the road. She held the keys out and I grabbed them

"I took Cori's car. S-she trusted that I knew what I was doing" She mumbled. She hadn't spoken clearly since everything had happened.

"Hey, everything's going to be okay now Holt. They have Kameron and they are not going to let him out for a long time. And even if they do, they are not going to let him near you, or me. We're okay now" I said, stopping her and looking into her eyes. She nodded and attempted to smile but tears were welling in her eyes.

"I'll explain everything to Heath, I promise" I said, as we climbed into Cori's car.

As soon as we pulled up, she began to hyperventilate again.

"Hey, look at me" I said and she did so.

"I'll protect you from everything, Heath included" I promised and she nodded.

"Thank you" She said in her soft tone.

We walked towards the front door and it was opened by Heath who looked somewhat angry.

"What the hell is going on? Mind telling me huh Sire?" He yelled.

"Heath, get inside and I'll explain everything" I said.
