Todd seemed to avoid us at lunch, claiming via text that he was in detention for some bullshit. I personally believed it was because he didn't want to deal with me.
"He's never one to give into detention, he'd rather just run away" I said, the others shaking their heads.
"It doesn't matter where he is, you don't need to worry" Heath said and I sighed, poking at my lunch.
"I suppose. I'll know if he's avoiding me when he either shows up for photography or not." I said.
"Whatever makes you happy" Heath said, rolling his eyes with a playful smile. I rolled mine back, shoving him.
When I did get to photography, there sat Todd at his usual computer. I was a little surprised at that.
I walked over and sat down, catching his attention.
"Holt" He acknowledged, nodding his head once.
"Todd I'm sorry for yesterday" I said and he laughed, turning to me.
Jesus fucking Christ, did I fuck him up or what?
"Oh my god" I gasped, covering my mouth and he shrugged.
"I mean, I never expected it from you of all people" He said with a smile.
"But I guess I should also be the one to apologise. I'm sorry for pushing you, mentally and physically" He said and I smiled back at him, making him sigh in relief.
"Can we put it behind us?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Everyone knows what happened, half the city knows. It's not exactly easy to forget or hide" He said.
"For every one else maybe. But when have you ever cared about anyone else?" I said and he grinned.
"It's behind us Holt" He said, extending his hand, which I grabbed and shook. That made him wince in pain and my eyes grew wide.
"Jesus, are you okay?" I asked and he shrugged.
"I think you definitely bruised a rib at the least, the very least. I'll just rest this weekend and everything will be fine by Monday hopefully. My mom wants to meet you" He said, changing the subject but in a way that made me laugh.
"Oh? And why would that be?" I asked and he shrugged.
"She said 'you obviously deserved whatever beating you've just gotten. I'd love to meet the man that put you in your place', then when I told her you were a girl, she just about fainted. She told Heath's mom I must have killed you because of how I looked" He said.
"Cori mentioned that to me. So they're pretty close?" I asked and he nodded.
"Have been since high school. Heath and I grew up together" He said and I smiled.
"I heard. So she wants to meet me?" I asked and he nodded again.
"When I explained that I was worse off than you, she laughed. She said that I must have really pissed you off because all Cori had told her was that you were an angel" He said, laughing at the last part.
"Shut up, I am an angel. Just not when you piss me off." I said and he laughed.
"Which I'll never do again, at least not to that degree" He said and I smiled.
"Good." I said and he looked back at me.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Can you come meet her after this? If I tell her we made up, she won't believe me. She believes I'm an asshole, truly. If you tell her we're okay, then she won't be a bitch this weekend." He all but begged.
