98. The Other Side

TODD:

"She just left?" I asked Heath as we rode in his truck to the place. I had opted for his vehicle because I wanted to talk to him about Alissa.

He nodded, probably as surprised as I was.

"She did. I'm glad you rode with me, I need to talk to you about some shit." He said and I nodded.

"Same here" I said.

"You go first" He said.

"What's going on with Alissa and Scotty? She seemed pretty sure he's throwing a tantrum about something. But that text says she's wrong. It's more than that" I said and he laughed.

"Yeah I know. But she won't tell me what it was. She came back from the place last night, while she was still sick, and just wanted to sleep and said nothing happened. But then he called me and said she wouldn't answer her phone. He sounded concerned. But that could have easily been a cover up" Heath said and I shrugged.

"I don't know. Concern is an emotion Scotty finds hard to cover up, that's why he stops himself getting closer to people." I said and Heath frowned.

"You don't think he likes her, do you?" He asked and I furrowed my brows.

"I-I don't know. Do you?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I don't know either." He said.

Thinking about it, Scotty had asked her into the group. Not to mention he had only known her for a short period of time and she was a girl. He had been infatuated with her from day one but he, like the rest of us, had ruined it pretty early on. Heath managed to not completely repulse her and now they had been dating for an entire semester.

But Scotty hadn't actually mentioned any of it to us, not that we thought he would. But still, something wasn't adding up.

Even if it were true, judging by the way Alissa spoke about him, she definitely didn't like him the same way.

"My turn" Heath said and I nodded.

"What I'm going to say can not be repeated to anyone. Not Zane or David, not to your parents. No one, got it?" He said and I nodded.

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked, kind of worried about what he might say.

"Christmas day Al went to help Scotty out of trouble and they were held hostage by Kameron Kennedy." He said and my eyes grew wide.

"They what?" I asked as Heath nodded.

"Yeah, she went down in the morning and Kam was there with a gun to Scott's head" He said and I sighed.

"So she knows now?" I asked and he laughed.

"Of course. I wish I had told her, but the cunt told her before I could" He said.

"Scotty?" I asked and he laughed again.

"No, Kameron. Although I did call Scotty a cunt that day as well." He said.

"Jeez and I thought Florida was going to be a fresh start" I said and he chuckled.

"You and me both. Maybe college will be something different" He said and I shrugged.

"Weird to think we both might get there after all, huh?" I said and he nodded.

"Fucking weird alright. We're here" He said, pulling up to the place. We looked to each other and sighed.

"Lets hope this doesn't end badly" I said and he nodded in agreement.

"I'm ready to fight if need be" He said and I nodded as well. It takes a lot to get Heath even willing to throw a punch, so that shows how serious this situation with Scott could potentially be.

We walked into the place and saw Zane and David there.

"What the hell do we do?" David asked.

"What the hell was he doing over that side of town in the first place?" Heath asked.

"You know Al would know." David said.

"She said nothing out of the blue happened last night, we believe her" Zane said as I nodded.

"Yeah, Scotty going all the way across town has nothing to do with whatever he said to her last night" I said, hoping like hell Holt wasn't bullshitting. Otherwise Zane and I could be lying for her and not even know it. If she knows something we don't and Scotty gets hurt because of it, who knows what will happen in the future.

"I just can;t think of what happened to make him go out there!" Zane said and we all nodded.

"Nothing's going that bad, is it?" David asked.

"It's nothing to do with what you told me?" I asked Heath who shook his head.

"It shouldn't be" He said as David and Zane looked at us.

"What?" They both asked in unison.

"Nothing" We both replied in the same way.

"As long as you're sure" Zane said and Heath nodded.

"It's nothing to do with what Todd's thinking" He confirmed.

"So what do we do?" Zane asked.

SCOTTY:

"I'm going to ask you one more time Sire, what the hell are you doing on this side of town?" He asked me.

"You don't scare me, you never have" I said with a smirk.

"I don't think you need reminding that this is my side of town, not yours. You have no influence here and my boys have no issues with beating the shit out of you" He said as two guys standing behind him cracker their knuckles.

"Go ahead, be my guest" I said, continuing to read.

"Do you have a death wish or something?" He asked, confused by my actions no doubt. I shrugged, not looking at him.

"He's gone crazy" One of the guys said.

"Either that or his friends finally realised he's not all that and ditched him" The other said.

"Please, they weren't his friends in the first place." The first one said as the two of them laughed. They were instantly silenced as their leader held up his hand.

"Now now, let's not torture him with the wrong materials" He said. I didn't need to look up to see the creepy grin he had on his face. It was amazing to believe that he had never met Kameron Kennedy because some days they looked like twins.

"It's about that girl isn't it? That one you added into your little group. What's her name? Amanda? Alexis? Oh wait, Alissa. That's her. Alissa Holt" He said. I stood and looked him dead in the eye, my face only two inches away from his.

"This has nothing to do with her or my gang. I'm here because why the fuck not" I spat, walking out of the coffee shop.

I knew they would follow me. I knew there was no way they'd just let me walk.

But what I didn't know is that my group of friends, minus Alissa, would all be standing there waiting for me.

Oh brother.

Who is the leader for the other side of town hm?

Hint: It's not going to be someone like Jake paul or anything dumb like that. I'll take suggestions but I have no idea who they're gonna be
