And soon I will forget this,
As I forget the other things that haunt me,
The chase was fun,
Endearing really,
But I cannot go on in this way,
You know of my reminiscing,
Of my stupidity,
Like the bird with the broken wing,
Trying too hard to fly on laurels,
Because a wish will not heal,
The damage done by time,
And so only you can help me,
The carousel has once more made its round,
To the past mistakes I know I have made,
To what I must forget,
To what must die in my heart and soul,
But it will not be easy,
To forget,
Yet I shall make it work,
Like I always do.
