#59 Acceptance of Failures

I had to stop
So abruptly,
For I will fall
Into an abyss.

An impossibly daunting task
To get across,
My skills the limiting factor.
Not honed enough
Dragging me slowly down
The muddy waters.

To shine through,
The sunlight hits
Directly on your sunkissed skin.
I'm at a loss
Of direction, and way
Of manoevreing
The pathway which allows me
To meander through
The prickly grains of sand.

A change in key,
Major to minor
The issue got bigger
The story got sadder.
I'm struck by
The acute irony but
I can only stand paralysed
And watch as horror
Slowly unfolds.

My pale skin reveals itself,
Every single flaw now
An exhibition for all to see.
They scrutinise
With greatest concentration,
Their centre of focus
Shifted to me
I,
A crying star.

Let
The mud wash off,
Off of my body
And
Let the sun shine through.
I'm pleading through
My tears,
They can't clean it away.

Unable to bring to a close,
A cacophony of thoughts,
Discordant words to appeal
To broken strings of thought.

The sheets made of ice
Warmed me that night.
