Alyssa's POV

"Good morning, everyone. Today we will use trigonometric ratios to solve problems involving indirect measurement," said my math teacher, Mr. Drees. I was in first period math on a Monday. Suddenly, I felt something at my foot. I looked down and noticed a note. I opened it, making sure the teacher wouldn't see and noticed it was from Kat.

Kat: Hey! what's up? I'm so bored!

This was annoying. She couldn't wait till after class to say what's up?

Me: I'm trying to take notes so I don't fail this class again. Can't this wait till after class?

Kat: No! Anyways, did you hear that there is a new guy coming to our school today? ;)

Me: Really Kat? Didn't you say that there was another guy you liked?

Kat: I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about you!

Me: whatever. I have to get back to my notes.

I gave the note back to Kat and continued to take notes on whatever we were learning.

I was in fourth period biology when someone came into the room. I couldn't tell who it was because he had his hoodie covering his head.

"Ok students. Looks like you have been taking good notes. Now before I continue, I would like to introduce you to our new student," said my biology teacher. "Sam, will you please take off your hood and tell us about yourself?"

My eyes widened when I noticed who it was. It was the same guy that I saw at Starbucks! And now I know his name.

"Well my name is Sam Woolf, I have been living here my whole life and just transferred schools, and I love music," he quickly said. Then he sat down in the way back and put his hoodie back on. I don't know why he was so shy, he looked like the kind of guy that would be really outgoing, but I still thought he was cute.

"He is sooooo hot! You guys would be perfect together!" said Kat.

"Kat I haven't even met the guy! Or even talked to him!" I said, although it wasn't entirely true. I only talked to him once; at Starbucks.

"Liar! You talked to him at Starbucks." she said. I didn't think she noticed him at the café because she was so excited to tell me about the guy she likes.

"Whatever, lets just go to lunch."

BRING! BRING! BRING! The last bell finally rang. Today took forever, just like every Monday. I was just glad it was over. As a was walking to my locker to get my stuff to go home, I accidentally tripped and dropped all of my books. But instead of falling, someone caught me.

"Oh my gosh, uh s-sorry I didn't mean to-" I began to say. But then I noticed who it was. I remembered those green eyes as I stared into them.

"Hi, I'm Sam," he finally said after what seemed like forever of just staring into each others eyes.

"H-hi, I'm Alyssa," I said as I began to pick up my books. He bent down and began to help me.

"Alyssa, that's a beautiful name." he said. I couldn't help but smile and blush. He was so cute. I stood up and gathered my books.

"Thanks, um I really should get going," I said when I noticed that the halls were clearing. As I turned around to walk away, I heard his voice again.

"So, I guess I'll see you around?" he asked in a hopeful voice.

I stopped waking and turned around.
"Ya, I'll see you around. Bye," I then turned around and left. As I was walking away, I couldn't help but smile.

Later, when I got home, I got a text from Kat.

Kat: Meet me at SB in 10! I need to talk to u!

"Uggghhh!" I said out loud as I fell back onto my bed. I did not want to go back out. I just got home from school and had a lot of homework...and a lot of things to think about...anyways, I just decided to change out of my really uncomfortable skinny jeans and Uggs and into a more comfortable white dress and white heels. I grabbed my phone and left.

When I got there and ordered my coffee, I was kind of upset because Sam wasn't there today. Then Kat and I went and sat down at our usual table in the back.

"So what was so important that you have to tell me?" I asked Kat.

"Well actually I have two things to say. First, JC asked me out! Yay!!!" She said. I didn't have a clue who that was but I'm guessing it was the guy she has been talking about.

"Congrats! See? I told you he would ask."

"Ya I know. I'm glad I took your advice. So the second thing is is that after JC asked me out, he also invited me to this huge party. Apparently he has, like, a giant house and everyone in the school is invited! So you should come!"

I began to think if Sam was going to be there. I suddenly really wanted to go. "Ok sure I'll go, but is it a formal party? Cause if so then I need a dress." I said, hoping she would say yes so we could go dress shopping. I love dress shopping, but sometimes I end up spending a little too much money.

"Ya it's a formal party. Yay! That means we get to go dress shopping! We could go after school tomorrow if you want." she said while she finished her iced latte.

"Ya that would be great. Wait when is the party?"

"Oh it's on Friday night. Well I got to go. Bye!" and she left.

I don't really know why, but I was really excited for this party.
