Chapter 19

"Wow, I can't believe I'm in the top 13!" said Sam for the twentieth time in the limo. We were driving back to the hotel, we had just finished dinner. I thought it was so cute how excited he was.

"I know, I can't believe I made it this far, either," I said. I really hadn't expected to make it this far, but I wasn't surprised that Sam had.

We got to the hotel and I went straight back to my room. I was so exhausted from the past week. But it definitely paid off. I took a quick shower then went to sleep.

Top 13, Results Night

Last night, we all sang so good, I don't know who would be going home tonight. We opened the night singing Counting Stars/Radioactive. It was so much fun. Then we had a seat in the lounge.

"Will Dexter, Sam, Kristen, Jena, and Malaya come to the stage please," said Ryan.

"Good luck," I whispered to Sam as he got up. He nodded in response and headed to the stage.

"Dexter and Jena...you are safe," said Ryan. I sat up in my seat, very nervous for Sam.

"Kristen....I'm sorry but you are in the bottom 3, Malaya and Sam, you are safe!" said Ryan. I stood up and clapped, excited that Sam was safe.

Other people were called, and the people who were safe were Sam, Malaya, Emily, Dexter, Jena, Ben, Caleb, Jess, and Alex.

"Can I please have Alyssa, CJ, and Majesty to the stage please," said Ryan as we stood up. Two of the three of us would be in the bottom.

"Majesty. . . you are safe! That means CJ and Alyssa, you are joining Kristen in the bottom three." I nodded in understanding and took a seat on the stools. We went to break, so I walked back to the lounge to sit next to Sam.

"Okay, how are you in the bottom? You were awesome last night," said Alex. "Yeah, you were definitely one of the bests," said Sam.

"Thanks guys, but I guess America doesn't agree." I said in response as Sam wrapped me in his arms. I was so scared, I just wanted to cry right there, even though I still had a chance of staying in.

"And the first person to be safe is...CJ Harris." said Ryan when we came back from break. I knew I would be going home, Kristen was to good to go.

"And the person going home unless the judges use the save is...Kristen O'Connor." I sighed in relief, but also felt bad for Kristen. I hugged her and then headed back to the lounge.

"That was close," I said as I sat back down in the lounge.

"I know, I was worried for a minute, but I knew you would stay. You are great," said Sam.

They didn't save Kristen, and we all were sad to see her go. We said our goodbyes, then headed back to the hotel.

Sam's POV

On the drive back to the hotel, I was really tired. The last week had been a lot of work and very stressful, but it paid off. I was now in the top 12!

But it wasn't all about me. Alyssa hasn't been talking hardly at all since the show ended. I sat next to her in the limo and began to talk to her.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked Alyssa. She was about to fall asleep, I could tell.

"Not really. I mean, I guess so, but actually no." She said, yawning.

"Why-" I began.

"Look, I don't want to talk about it right now, okay? I'm just...i don't know, confused. Can we talk about it tomorrow?" she said, half yelling, making The other contestants look our way.

"Ya, that's fine."

Alyssa's POV

When we got back to the hotel, I was half asleep. I remembered that in the limo, I kinda yelled at Sam, when he was just trying to be nice.

"Hey, I'm sorry for yelling at you, I'm just. . .I don't really know, tired, I guess. But I'll see you tomorrow, we can talk then." I said to Sam in the lobby. Before he could say anything, I walked to the elevator and went to my room.

I tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't. There were too many thoughts floating around in my head. But I mostly have been thinking about that dream that I had when I passed out.

I didn't know what it meant, but was Sam going to break up with me?
