"Are you serious? You're gonna move on?" asked Kat, surprised.
"Yes, Sam told me to forget about him, so that's what I'll do," I responded. "Why are you so surprised? You are
the one who told me about this guy."
"Well yeah, but I didn't think you would actually listen. But if you are interested, his names Lou. He is really nice and in our math class. You should talk to him tomorrow," she said. I was really excited to meet Lou, maybe I could finally move on. But somehow, his name sounded familiar.

I checked my small mirror in my locker one more time the next morning before I went to math. I wanted to look the best I could, but still casual. Kat and I walked to class, and when we got to our seats, I asked her who he was.
"There, the one with the blonde hair and brown eyes," Kat whispered as she pointed to him. He was cute, but not like Sam. No one could top Sam. But I would definitely talk to him.
"Okay, I'm gonna go talk to him. Wish me luck!" I said, then got up from my seat and walked over to him.
He was busy doing his homework, but I tapped him on the shoulder and he immediately snapped his head up to face me.
"Oh, hey, Alyssa right?" he asked, giving me a nice smile. He was really cute.
"Yes, that's me," I said nicely and returned his smile.
"I'm Lou. So what's up?" he asked me. Wait, what was up? I don't even remember why I came over here.
"Um, nothing really, just wanted to say hi I guess," I said nervously. I should have thought about what I was gonna say before I came over here.
"Same. So, I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime?" he asked me. Immediately, my smile faded. I have never talked to him before, and he's already asking me out? This is weird.
"Um, I'll be right back," I said and stood up to go back by Kat.
"So, how did it go?" she asked.
"Um, well, he asked me out," I said in more of a question.
"Well, isn't that what you wanted?"
"Yes, wait no, I don't know. But this is the first time I've ever talked to him. What should I do?" I asked her, hoping she would tell me.
"Well, he seems like a really nice guy, so I would give him a chance." she said, then returned to her notes.
"Okay, you're right. I'll be right back," and I got up to walk back over to Lou.
"Hey, sorry about that. So yes, I'll go out with you," I said and he stood up and hugged me. Oh.
"Great. I'll pick you up on Friday night at around seven?" he asked once he broke the hug.
"Okay, sounds good." I said. We exchanged goodbyes and the bell rang, so I sat in my seat and math class began.

Friday
It was six o'clock, and I still didn't know what to wear. So I decided to call Kat.
"Kat, can you please come over? I need your help," I asked over the phone. She said she'd be over in ten minutes, so I hung up and curled my hair.
"Okay, so lets start with where you are going," said Kat when she got to my house.
"Where are we going? Uh, I actually don't know," I said. It never came to mind to ask where we were going.
"Liss, how do you not know? Ugh, this is gonna take a while." She said, frustrated, then walked into my closet.
"You probably aren't going to go anywhere to dressy on your first date, so I would go with this dress with some white pumps." She held up a pale blue dress that had quarter length sleeves and stopped just above my knees. I don't even remember buying that dress.
"Okay, I'll put it on." I went into my bathroom and tried it on. I really liked it, and decided I would wear it. I quickly did my makeup, and went back into my bedroom.
"How do I look?" I asked as I twirled around in front of my room.
"You look great, but I think you should wear these earrings too," she said as she held up a pair of small diamond earrings that I had on my desk.
"Good idea," I said then grabbed the earrings and put them on. I looked at my alarm clock, and it was 6:58.
"Okay, he will be here any minute." I said as I checked myself one more time in the mirror. Kat followed me downstairs to watch TV until he got here. I put on another old episode of Friends, my now favorite show.
As I was watching it, I didn't even pay attention to the time.
"Hey Liss, you know it's like, 7:30, right?" asked Kat as she looked at her phone.
"What? Already? Where is he?"
"I don't know, but he should really be here by now-" said Kat, but was cut off by the sound of the doorbell. I walked over to the door, and it was Lou.
"Oh, hey Lou," I said as I smiled, although I was a little upset at how late he was.
"Hey Alyssa, ready to go?" he asked, without apologizing for being over a half hour late.
"Yeah, let's go," I said, although I didn't really want to go anymore.
