The next day I arrived at school, and once again, Kat didn't meet me by my locker.
She was probably with Emily.
I have only known Emily for two days, and she was already on my nerves. I would try to be nice to her, if she weren't so mean.
I was really upset that I couldn't go over Sam's house after school. I really wanted to spend more time with him; I really like him.
I just hoped he still liked me. He told me not to worry about anything, but I worry a lot, so I couldn't help it.
I noticed that I had one more minute until class started, so I just decided to go without Kat.
When I got to class, Sam was there and I sat next to him.
"Hey Myers, sorry again about canceling tonight," said Sam as I got my things organized.
"It's ok I guess," I said.
He came closer to me and took my hand.
"Alyssa, are you okay?" he asked me.
"Yes. I'm just tired," I said as the bell rang.
I noticed that Kat still wasn't here, so I began to think that she was absent.
"Ok class, today we will be learning about-" started the teacher, but was interrupted by the door opening, letting two people in.
They were laughing, and I noticed that it was Kat and Emily.
"You've got to be kidding me," I said under my breath, but Sam heard me.
"It's okay, don't let it bug you," said Sam as he rubbed my arm.
They were starting to stop laughing now, I think because the teacher was giving them a mean look.
"Girls, stop laughing and go to your seats." said Mr. Drees.
Sam's POV
This was the first time I have seen Emily in about four years.
She looks about the same, but her laugh is different. It doesn't sound as happy.
Alyssa looked uncomfortable, I think because Emily was with her best friend. I really hope that everything was okay with her. She didn't really give me a lot of details on what happened.
But from what I heard, Emily wasn't as nice anymore, apparently.

Alyssa's POV
When I went to lunch, I looked around, but I couldn't find Kat.
I decided to just go buy my lunch, then I could go find her.
When I came out of the lunch line, I found her, but she was sitting with the popular girls.
Their names are Anna, Ellie, Trish, Molly and Christina. They were so mean, rude and snobby, I don't know why anyone would like them.
"Hey Kat, are we sitting here today?" I asked her when I got to the table. But I noticed that there where only 7 chairs, so there wasn't a place for me I sit.
Immediately everyone stopped talking.
"Sorry Liss, but there aren't any more seats left. Maybe Monday we can sit together?" Said Kat.
"Oh, okay, I'll just go sit with Amber and Morgan," I said. Then I left. I felt like such a third wheel. Why was Emily taking away Kat from me too?
*****
When I got home, there was note on the table.
'Hi honey, I'm at work and won't be back until late. There's food in the fridge. -Mom'
