A N N A B E T H
I guess it had been a week or so of me seeing Calum, or whatever you choose to call it. I'd been sleeping at his house, per his request. We stopped by my house to gather my clothes and necessities a few days prior. I was comfortably moved into his guest room, a few doors down from what was his own. I did like his company, it was better than being isolated in my own house whilst my parents were off. I didn't know whether or not this was moving quickly, but I wasn't uncomfortable with the pace it was going.
I was never woken up by an alarm, only Calum placing gentle kisses behind my ear, whispering sweet pet names until my eyes opened. Once they did, I glanced over my shoulder to see the man straightening himself up, standing at the edge of the bed. He was already in his attire for the day, as I was buried under blankets with my pajamas on.
"Breakfast is downstairs, darling. We're leaving in an hour." He'd smile before exiting the bedroom. Each morning. I wasn't opposed to it, it was lovely to wake up to a gorgeous man telling me to get ready.
I got up from my bed and slid into my everyday uniform. Though, instead of wearing tights, I reached for the pair of knee high socks. I ran a brush through my hair and applied a light layer of mascara for makeup, only because I didn't want to waste much time on anything else. I had a few acne spots surfacing on my face, but it was not my main concern. I went to brush my teeth and within twenty minutes I was seated downstairs. Calum brought me a plate of eggs and toast, sitting down next to me with his coffee.
"Hungry?" he chuckled, observing my rather quick eating.
I blushed because when don't I when he's around? "A bit," I mumble through a half-full mouth of food.
All he did in response was smile and sip out of his mug. I finished off my plate quickly and before I could swallow my last bite, Calum had swept my plate away and carried it to the sink. "We still have about twenty or so minutes until we have to leave."
"Oh," I looked over at the clock hanging on the wall.
He nodded, walking back over to the table. "What do you have going on today?"
My eyebrows furrowed slightly as I thought about the things my teachers had planned for my classes that day, "Well," I began, resting my chin in the palm of my hand. "My english teacher is giving out an exam today on this book we've been reading in class." I smiled cheekily and glanced up at Calum. He chuckled and shook his head as he sets the mug in his hand onto the table.
"Poor you."
I giggled quietly, "Mrs. Bergman is giving us a pop quiz in maths, she made it obvious yesterday. And, I think I have a written assessment in French. But that's all." I shrugged my shoulders a bit.
"Mmm," He nodded slowly and smiled gently. The way he smiled causes the skin at the outer corners of his eyes to crinkle up a bit, it's the cutest thing.

"Clifford, focus." Calum, or now Mr. Hood, called out to the bright-haired boy sitting a few seats to the left of me, a row ahead. My head naturally turned in that direction and I was met with the eyes of his friend, it being no one other than Luke, the boy I was helping tutor. His lips had begun to curl into a friendly smile before Calum's voice sounded again.
"You too, Hemmings." He snapped, his eyes glancing from the blonde boy to me. My face flushed and I looked back at my hands which were resting on my desk.
The class neared its end and once the bell rang I went and followed my peers as they all filed out into the hallway.
"Miss Carter, hold on." I heard a familiar Australian accent call after me and my stomach tied up. For what reason I couldn't place.
I slowly stepped back into the classroom, it was now only me and him, standing a mere three feet from each other. I was looking at him, my books clutched up to my chest as he was stood behind his desk, quickly glancing over papers that were lying on the top. Calum looked towards me seconds after, it was more so him looking down at me. No shock, of course. He was much taller than I was.
He took a seat, his gaze shifting slightly upward now to keep his gaze on me. Neither of us had yet said a word. There was tension between us, I felt it, but t wasn't as uncomfortable as it would've been just over a week ago.
A rather quiet sigh released itself from the man's lips and he shook his head slightly, as though he was disregarding what he might've said. Instead a seemingly innocent phrase broke our silence.
"How was your day, baby?"
