Turner's pov

After the game I went into the locker room to get changed when I heard Cayden talking to Hudson about something.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked

"The fact that your new girlfriend dissed your ex." Cayden replied

"It was epic." Hudson laughed and then fist bumped Cayden.

"Idiots." I laughed under my breath as I stripped my self free of the baseball uniform.

"So we were thinking about having a late night pick up game at the Cable net courts, you in?" Cayden asked

"Fuck yeah!" I yelled then drove home.

When I got home I saw Chastity sitting on my couch.

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"What, I can't come say hi every now and then?" She questioned

"No, get out." I said angrily

"C'mon Turner you know you want me, you know I can give you what Lorelei can't." She whispered as she started putting her hands on me. I shoved her off and looked at her with pure disgust.

"What's your problem Chastity? First you lie about us having sex and now your making it sound like you have a million times? You need to get out of my house and stay the hell away from me." I exclaimed

"You really are dumb aren't you?" She wondered while grabbing her keys

"Stop trying to be something you aren't. Stop trying to convince people that you're a slut because it's not a good thing. You see the way everyone looks at Lorelei because of the rumors you spread. Do you really want that to be you? Are you really that much of an attention whore?" I asked harshly

"It's not like that-"

"It is, and you know it. So stop spreading rumors and telling people we had sex because you and I both know we didn't and you know it's because I wouldn't let you." I stated

"Yeah because you're probably gay." She scoffed

"Well if you were the last girl on earth I would be." I smiled then she stormed out the front door.

I walked into my room and threw on a muscle tee with some basketball shorts. I grabbed my basketball and phone as I walked out the door. It was cold and dark outside and I couldn't keep Lorelei off of my mind. Everything about her was perfect.

Her hair, her height, her smile, her laugh, her eyes, her humor, her sarcasm, her perfect body, the way she talks, the sound of her voice, her everything.

I reached the courts in a little less then ten minutes and the guys were already dividing teams.

"Alright so Cayden, Hudson, Michael, Trent, and Sam are a team and Turner, Street, Caleb, Landon, and I are a team." A guy on the baseball team named James announced.

We began to play and we weren't serious about it at first until a few girls walked by. Some guys peeled off there shirts and tried a little harder to impress the girls but most of them had their eyes on Cayden.

Cayden didn't care. He was used to this kind of stuff anyway. Every now and then he would run by and wink but other than that he just played. At one point in the game Sam passed to Cayden and Cayden jumped up and dunked on James. James pretended to cry and all the guys chanted, "Why's James crying?" "BECAUSE HE JUST GOT DUNKED ON!"

I remember that song from when I was in middle school. We sang it in shop once and Lorelei was there and she couldn't keep her eyes off of me. She kept smiling and laughing at our stupid jokes. Unfortunately at the time I liked Chastity so I didn't pay much attention to Lorelei's beauty then, but I'm glad I do now. (The song dunked on is in the media)

As the game ended we said our goodbyes and made our way home. It was around 11:00 pm and the court was mainly empty. I decided why not stay and shoot a few more hoops. I plugged in my ear buds and went crazy. I did lay ups, three pointers, practiced dunking. I even dribbled up and down the court until I couldn't run any more. I picked up my water bottle and took a few sips when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I jolted back surprised when I realized it was Lorelei.

"Why are you out here so late?" I asked taking an earbud out.

"Couldn't sleep." She laughed

"So you just walk to the courts? Usually when I can't sleep I just go in my front yard and lay in the grass staring at stars." I stated making her smile

"You look at stars?" She giggled

"Yeah." I blushed

"It's cute." She smiled. I looked at my phone.

1:47 am

"Hey it's pretty late, we should get going home. You're parents are probably worried sick." I stated

"No, my dad doesn't care and my mom is dead so I'm free to do whatever I want as long as I'm home before 7 am and 'in bed' by 11 pm." She said

"Oh, I'm sorry about your mom." I replied

"It's not your fault so what do you have to be sorry for?" She asked

"How did she go?" I questioned

"Car accident. She was late to pick me up from a practice, I forget what sport but she ran red stop light and a truck driver hit her. As soon as she got the hospital she was gone." Lorelei answered and a tear dropped down her face. I pulled her in for a hug and held her close to me. I felt her small body shaking against mine in the cold night. I wish I had a sweatshirt, I would've given it to her.

She eventually pulled away from me and wiped away her tears. She smiled then tucked her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants. We looked at each other for what felt like years then I bent down to kiss her. Her lips fit perfectly in mine.

We didn't part. She wouldn't let me. It was like our kiss was saving her from her sadness. In that moment I realized that maybe I do have feelings for her. Maybe I do want to be with her. And maybe, just maybe I'll love her forever.

When she pulled away from me she blushed and looked at her feet. I tilted her chin up so she was looking at me then I kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll see ya at school." I said

"See ya." She replied then walked away into the early morning darkness.
