Lorelei's pov

It was late on a Tuesday night when I was sitting in the Sunset Diner. I was trying to finish some English homework when someone walked in. He sat down next to me and preferred some pancakes. I smiled knowing who it was.

"Hey Hudson." I smiled

"Lorelei! I didn't see you there." He lied, "what are you working on?"

"English." I sighed

"I love English! It's my best subject." He exclaimed

"Well I'm failing it right now." I laughed, "and I have a test next week. If I fail I fail the class and have to go to Summer school."

"I could tutor you." Hudson suggested

"Oh thank the lord." I smiled

"So what can I help you with?"

The rest of that night was filled with pancakes, stupid jokes, and hard work.

"Thank you so much." I said as Hudson and I parted

"No problem." He flashed a bright smile then walked off. Who knew, he's a smart jock.

I pulled into the driveway of my house and was met with my angry father. I got out of my car wondering what he was so upset about.

"Where have you been?" He asked

"At the diner getting help on some English." I answered

"Where were you really the night it stormed?" He wondered

"At Sutton's." I replied

"Bull. I went over to her house to pick you up that night and she said you weren't there, so I'm going to ask again. Where were you?" He questioned.

How am I supposed to answer that? I can't tell him I was at Turners. He's going to assume things. Who am I to stop him from assuming, his assumptions are right.

"I was at sutton's." I mumbled

"STOP LYING! I KNOW YOU WERE AT A BOYS HOUSE, ALL IM ASKING YOU TO DO IS TELL ME WHO!" He yelled. My eyes widened. I haven't heard my dad yell since my mom died.

"I was at Turner Fitzgerald's." I answered. He suddenly calmed. I don't know why but parents seem to like Turner.

"I'm glad you weren't at that boy Cayden's house. Promise me you will never do this again." He begged

"I promise." I replied.

"You're still grounded for staying at a boys house." He laughed, "Please tell me you slept in separate rooms."

"We did." I lied, but he'll never know. I'll never let him.

He must be so disappointed.

My mom must be so disappointed

I'm sorry mom. I'm sorry for being such a screw up, for letting you down, for being the daughter you wish you never had.

I miss you so much mom.

All these thoughts were going on in my head while I walked to my room. I couldn't help but a feel ashamed of my actions, but happy that I was with Turner, happy that it was him.

Sorry for the short chapters lately. I promise the next ones will be longer
