Lorelei's pov
Party after party, School day after school day, and everything felt stuck. My friends had the same drama, my ex friends are ignoring ( I'm not surprised), Turner hasn't talked to me since the steak house & neither has Street, Hudson stopped going to the diner, & Cayden had sex with anything & everything. But the worst thing that has happened was that Adam was killed in a car accident driving from one of Cayden's parties.
* The day of the accident*
"Why are we even here this party is so lame." I sighed while holding a red solo cup filled with beer.
"Because you need to get out of your house and enjoy life." Sutton exclaimed
"Hey look there's that hot guy." Ariel pointed at Adam.
"You should go talk to him." I suggested
"You think?" She asked
"Do it!" Sutton pushed her over by Adam. They immediately hit it off. Sutton talked with guys that were on the baseball team but I kept searching the crowd for Turner.
I caught a glimpse of his handsome smile but it faded when he saw me. He turned the other direction as I chased after him.
"Turner wait." I said
"What?" He huffed
"I'm sorry." I replied
"For what?" He wondered
"For showing up at the steak house the other day and ruining your date with Chastity." I answered
"That's not what I'm upset about." He stated
"Then what are yo upset about?" I questioned
"Why do you have to be so damn beautiful? Every time I see you my heart shatters knowing that I'm not good enough for you. It makes me furious when I see you speak to another guy who isn't me. My mind goes wild when you stare at me, yet I had to break your heart and you don't understand how hard this is for me." He explained.
I stood there in shock not knowing what to say. A single tear dropped down my cheek as I quickly wiped it away. We stood there looking at each other for what felt like hours.
Suddenly I pressed my lips against his. There was so much passion in the kiss that we pulled away and I furrowed my eyebrows as I took a deep breath. He kissed me only this time he pushed me into a room.
He laid me on the bed with the intent to kiss every inch of my body. I knew this time it was right and no one could stand in our way.
His kisses trailed down my body as clothing items were thrown across the room. This moment would forever be embedded in my mind.
This was it.
I knew he was the one for me.
No question.
He made me feel like a princess in a world full of damsels, he made me feel like somebody worth fighting for.
With every ounce of love he held me. He whispered stories in my ear, he helped me laugh when I was sad.
But he broke my heart as if I were nothing. He quickly stripped away my love for him by falling for another girl.
Only this time I knew it was true.
*an hour after the accident*
There we sat in the police department staring at the floor with tear stained eyes. Only some of us still remained, others too broken to stay.
Ariel cried endless tears with Zuri as they shared stories about him. I sat next to Sutton still in shock as Turner and Cayden spoke to the cops.
The evidence sitting in a dump far away, never to be seen again. The man who hit Adam was MIA. His parents in the morgue staring at what used to be their most cherished possession.
All I knew is that now everything was different.
A boy who I once knew was dead, a girl who Cayden exposed is now broken, my best friend who lost a potential lover will never be the same.
If only Cayden hadn't had the party he might still be with us.
If only the man who hit him had been watching.
If only.....
