Marinette woke up early and felt refreshed. She wasn't in any pain, just a bit stiff. She jumped into the shower and got ready for the day. When she hopped out, she went to her closet and retrieved an outfit. She wore a black circle skirt with tule underneath, and she tucked in a red sweater. She wore some black leggings and some flat black boots. She pulled on a dark grey petticoat jacket on top, and pulled on the hat and gloves that Adrien gave her.
She left her hair down, and grabbed her bags with Tikki inside. She headed downstairs, said goodbye to her parents, and started walking to school. The air took a drop in temperature, but there was no wind. She definitely felt better, and after a couple minutes of walking, she could take normal strides with only a little soreness.
She arrived to school, and sat on the bench to wait for Alya. She pulled out her phone, and texted Alya.
"Hello Marinette." She heard a horrible voice say. She looked up to see Chloe standing in front of her.
"Hello Chloe. What brings you here?" Marinette asks. Her voice showed that she did not really care.
"Oh just checking on the biggest drama queen in school. Did you get hurt again? Do you need someone to carry you to class?" She asked, laughing at her own jokes.
"Since when was I carried to class?" Marinette asked.
"Never. But I do not doubt for a second that you would love the attention you'd get. Why else would you flex your strength to Adrien." She commented.
"Trust me Chloe. Not being able to walk, sucks. I wouldn't want to constantly be injured. It takes a toll." She said. Chloe thought.
"You know you never did tell everyone what you hurt? Were you too afraid to tell them you were faking it?" Chloe lured. She was trying to make Marinette mad. Which she succeeded in, and Marinette looked away from her phone.
"I had severely bruised hips and ribs. Someone beat me up till I lost my memory of what happened. At least that's what the doctors told me." Marinette told Chloe. Hopefully she'll feel satisfied with the answer and leave Marinette alone.
"That's really weird. I heard you were found in an alley still in your pajamas. My father has friends who are policemen." She said, casually flaunting her social status.
"As I said, I don't know how I ended up there. It just kind of happened." Marinette told her. She wanted to keep to the story she told Alya. Even though she was lying, there was no other way for her to explain how she got there.
"I still don't believe it." She pouted.
"Then go ask your fathers friends what they think. I'm sure you can pull some strings." Marinette brushed her off, looking back down at her phone to read Alyas' messages.
Chloe stalked off when Marinette started to ignore her, and Marinette reunited with Alya.
"Hey girl. How do you feel? I saw you climb into Adrien's limo yesterday." Alya said nudging her elbow.
"Well I was limping so Adrien gave me a ride home. It was amazing." Marinette whispered excitedly to Alya.
Marinette used the stairs this time, and walked up the stairs, one step at a time, to get to class.
