"Archie." Mary groaned as she turned around. "I can't do this." Mary continued walking away from Archie. Archie looked sad, Mary looked at him sympathetically. "I need to go, I will see you at the game." Mary said smiling and walking away from him. She ran down the stairs and out the house. Mary's mind was in a confused aura and she did not know what to do. This was all too much for her.

Mary walked onto the pitch and waved at her mom and dad. She looked at the football players to see Reggie staring at her. She quickly turned and walked the opposite direction. Reggie ran up to her.

"Mary!" He shouted. "Mary, please baby." Reggie pleaded, Mary slowly turned around to see a tear in Reggie's eyes. "Mary, speak to me." He whispered. Mary was trying her very best to no as she looked into his brown eyes.

"Reggie, we are not dating, okay?" Mary replied harshly trying to walk away but Reggie pulled her back.

"Why are we not dating, huh?" Reggie asked in a loud voice, grabbing the attention of high-schoolers. Mary looked at him blankly.

"Because." She spat and continued to walk away. Her makeup was all smudged as she the rain got worse. She was freezing the in the short cheerleading outfit.

"Because, what Mary?" Reggie asked, Mary quickly turned around. She knew she had to lie so he would leave her alone. Leave her so he could be at peace. Mary did not date people who bully other people and was not going to change things.

"Because, you were just a fling Reggie. I uh..... like someone else." Mary lied quietly and quickly before running off. So the ceremony could start leaving a broken-hearted Reggie Mantle. Standing alone. In the middle of the pitch while the rain cascaded down him.

"Now to kickoff this pep rally, I'd like to hand it over to our very own Mayor McCoy." Principal Weatherbee said into the microphone as he kicked off the pep rally.

"Thank you, Principal Weatherbee." Mayor McCoy said as everyone cheered. "It is heartening to see so many of you here, even in weather like this. But a lack of heart and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way.Tonight's pep rally isn't like any other we've had in the past. And we shouldn't pretend that it is.Which is why I would like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest.Jason Blossom. We're with him tonight." Mayor McCoy continued all the cheerleader got into place. "Now please, join me in welcoming to the field our very own River Vixens, and their special guest stars, my daughter, Josie and her Pussycats!" Mayor McCoy shouted into the microphone as everyone cheered. Josie and the Pussycats made there way onto the stage.

"Hey, shawty You're my candy girl The kind with the swirls Oh, so good Baby out of this world Looks so sweet Fell in love with your curves Every time you speak Conversation like, sir S-U-G-A-R You ain't her Oh, honey, honey Put money on that girl Let's keep it in her circle You everything I deserve Baby wants her sugar I'm ready to get served Sugar Oh, honey, honey You are my candy girl And you got me wanting you Ooh I saw this girl I wanna know her name She's got this body It's driving me insane 'Cause I need a candy, girl Her kisses rock my world More legs, brown eyes Ain't nobody like a fancy girl Sugar Oh, honey, honey You are my candy girl And you got me wanting you." They sang the song flawlessly and the cheerleader, including Mary, Betty and Veronica, all danced amazing. The River Vixens ran off to watch the football players come on as Cheryl went on stage and hugged Josie.

"All right, you all ready? Let's make some noise! Put your hands together for the Riverdale Bulldogs!" Coach shouted into the microphone as everyone cheered. All the footballers ran through the massive poster that the river vixens were holding up as the crowd cheered. Reggie looked at Mary blankly as she was smiling and cheering. While Archie ran past her and winked. Boy was she in a bit of a mess, she just gave Archie false hope but then again maybe she did not.

After the game Archie walked Mary home, they both walked together side by side and in silence. The reason being Mary was just so stressed out with Reggie and could not be bothered to be in the car with the parents. The finally got to Mary's house.
"Archie." Mary spoke up. Archie turned around so quickly. "Do you think we could...." Mary asked but before she could finish Archie walked up to her quickly while nodding he grabbed her cheeks and they kissed passionately. They pulled away from each other slowly.

"Mary, why can we not be a couple." Archie groaned, there lips only centimetres apart.

"Incase it ended badly and we weren't friends again." Mary said quietly as she looked the other way.

"Mary, I promise that if or when we break up I will continue to be your friend, deal?" Archie suggested smirking, Mary just nodded and continued to kiss him passionately.
