"You are moving schools!" Betty squealed out as her and Mary sat at the lunchtable waiting for their friends. Mary sighed as the sun beat down on her pale skin. "Why the hell are you doing this, Mars?" Betty asked as she gave Mary a shocked look.
"Betty, it's just too much to handle. I saw something at Juggie's party which hurt me, a lot." Mary admitted as she was talking about Veronica and Archie. "Reggie doesn't want me anymore, I can't stay here because I don't belong." Mary explained and Betty shook her head.
"Oh so the Southside is going to be so much better!" Betty shouted out sarcastically and Mary shushed her as Reggie walked past with his friends. "You are being so immature and stupid, Mars. You are going to ruin your life." Betty warned and Mary shook her head as she saw that her mom was calling.
"On that note." Mary whispered as she stood up and took the phone call. "Hey, mom." Mary smiled.
"I am outside, I am here to tell the school that you are transferring. Are you sure you want to do this?" Jules asked and Mary knew this was the right move for her. It was what Mary wanted.
"I'll meet you at the front door and we will do this together." Mary grinned before she ended the phone call and started walking fast. As Mary's boots stamped onto the ground she ran straight into Archie Andrews.
"Hey Mars." Archie smiled and that smile. Mary was shaking her head right at Archie.
"No time to talk, Andrews, I gotta do what's right for me." Mary stated at him before she moved swiftly past him and kept on walking. She finally made it to the front of the school and there was Jules. She tried to dress like a mom but she ended up wearing a white shirt with faces all over it and blue jeans and black boots. Boys were looking at her longer than they should have. "Mom!" Mary shouted as she walked over to Jules fixing her bag strap.
"Honey, are you sure this is what you want?" Jules asked as she hugged onto Mary. Mary nodded her head.
"I will belong with them, feel a part of a community-" Mary began to say but Jules interrupted her.
"A bad community. School won't be school anymore." Jules interrupted because she knew the deal with the school. Southside High wasn't for the weak but the strong. It was for the rejects of society.
"Let's do this, mom." Mary stated as she turned to face the door. Jules smirked as she nodded her head.
"Bravery is what the valiant harness as they make their decisions." Jules whispered as her and Mary walked into the school. They went straight to Mr Weatherbees office for their meeting.
"Miss Prescott, Miss Cooper, do come in." Mr Weatherbee smiled and Mary just gave him a blank face as she sat down alongside her mom.
"Mars wants to transfer out of Riverdale High into Southside High. I have already done the paperwork for Southside High so I just need to do the paperwork here." Jules explained really fast and Mr Weatherbee looked really shocked.
"Mary is one of our most promising students, her writing is impeccable according to teachers, she was going to be student body president. It would be unwise to transfer her to Southside." Weatherbee advised but Mary shook her head.
"I don't feel like me here. I feel like a robot programmed to feel all these different things. Who am I? What am I? I want to be more like my mom." Mary explained and Jules nodded her head.
"Mary, can you leave so we can discuss this?" Weatherbee asked and Mary shook her head straight away.
"I am sick and tired of people trying to control my future, I want to do something for myself and if it moving on from Riverdale High then so be it." Mary answered and Jules nodded her head.
"Over this past year, Mars has just been let down continuously and she wants to start over for the better. I believe it is what is best for her so if you just give me the paperwork and Homecoming will be the last day for her at Riverdale High." Jules powered through and Mary agreed with her mom.
"I need to leave." Mary admitted and Weatherbee sighed.
"Mary we will always welcome you back because you will be back here for a good education. Your lively hood is here and frankly you will be missed." Weatherbee explained as he got up and walked to his front door. Mary did not think that she would need to transfer back there ever, it was not in her cards.
"Bertha, may you please give me a transfer form?" Weatherbee asked his receptionist and Mary sighed with relief. Mary had not regrets nor worries but a shot at a new life. A better one in fact.
"I am so proud of you." Jules smiled at Mary who nodded her head back at her mom as she grinned.
"Here are the papers. Mary, you should go around now and get all your teachers to sign this form." Weatherbee explained and Mary took the transfer form from him. It was all about not stealing anything or whatever. "Miss Prescott, you will need to fill this out. Here's a pen." Weatherbee continued and Mary stood up.
"Mom, i'll see you tonight." Mary grinned and Jules stood up before hugging her daughter.
"I love you, Mars." Jules grinned before Mary walked out of the office. Today was her last day at this school and homecoming was going to be the last thing that tied her to Riverdale High. On Monday, Mars was going to be a new student at Southside High. Maybe even a Serpent. As Mars walked down the corridors she bumped straight into someone.
"Sorry I have been walking into people all-" Mary began to say before she saw who it was and what she was holding.
"A transfer sheet?" Reggie asked as he looked down at it. Mary sighed as she took it from him. "Where the hell are you going?" Reggie asked.
"Southside High." Mary answered bluntly and Reggie just sighed, a long sigh. He was devastated because he always believed that him and Mary would get back together.
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Reggie asked and Mary scoffed.
"Oh so now you care about me." Mary whispered because he was being so harsh to her lately. "Yeah, Archie did kiss me. I never kissed him, nor did I have anything to do with him afterwards. I wanted to but I didn't. There you go." Mary shouted at him as she walked out to the quad to tell her friends. They were all sitting on once of the lunchtables where Mary was sitting with Betty before.
"Is that you leaving then?" Betty asked as Mary ran over to them happily as she placed the transfer form onto the table.
"I am going." Mary grinned happily because she finally felt like she had so sort of control in her life. Everyone looked at her shocked.
"Other Cooper, what the hell are you doing?" Veronica asked and Mary smiled at them.
"I am going to the Southside, baby!" Mary grinned at her friends happily. Archie shook his head and Jughead looked at her surprised.
"You are being so stupid, Mars!" Archie admitted as he shouted it and Mary looked hurt. She was hurt to here Archie say those words. Betty nodded her head in agreement.
"So your face." Mary fired back at him and everyone looked at her as if she had done something horribly wrong. "Okay, so this is my last day here. I'll see you all at the dance tonight. Bye." Mary said to her friends before she walked away completely heartbroken. There was no words to describe just how upset she felt that her friends would not even support her on this.
