“Alexis RaeAnne!” Natalie shouted into my bedroom. I was packing a few last minute things for our trip to Burbank, California. We were leaving Friday evening, and we got there early Saturday morning (really early). We were to be at the studio at 2:30 in the afternoon. Natalie and I planned on sleeping on the plane ride, and then sleeping until about ten on Saturday. Then get ready and head out, maybe shop a few stores before getting to the studio. We were both so excited.

“I’m coming!” I yelled, grabbing my hot pink suitcase and running down the stairs. Natalie and I were the only two going, but her mom was driving us to the airport. I was dressed in sweatpants and a tank top, fully planning on sleeping as much as possible. I didn’t want to be tired when I met One Direction for the first time.

“Are you ready? We’re going to miss the plane!” Natalie yelled, pulling me to the car. The airport was about an hour away, so I settled into the car with headphones in my ears.

“We’ve slept enough. Let’s get ready.” Natalie mumbled. We had officially overslept by about two hours, making it almost noon.

“Good idea.” I said, stretching. We hurried around the hotel, throwing everything into a complete mess in order to find exactly what we needed. An hour and a half later I had managed to completely psyche myself out. I was jumping around, taking a drink of Monster every spare second I had.

“Stop that. You are going to be way to hyper.” Natalie said, pulling away my Monster to take a drink of it herself.

“Not my fault you already finished yours.” I said, pulling it back from her. I gave myself a once over in the mirror. I had gotten the floral dress Natalie picked out, and the black strappy sandals I picked out complimented it wonderfully. I had on a simple silver chain with a hollow heart on the end of it, and several small silver bracelets. My makeup was simple, not a lot, sparkle eye shadow and eyeliner. I added a small amount of blush to my normal look, giving me a fresh appearance. My brown hair was straightened to below my shoulders. I would say I looked alright.

“You look great.” Natalie said, pulling me out the door. I looked over at her, loving how tan her bright pink dress made her look. She had green flats on with it. She chose bright green bracelets, and a silver heart chain that matched mine was laying loosely around her neck. She had left her hair curly, leaving it at her shoulders. Her bangs were pulled back into a bright green headband, and she was wearing even less makeup than me. A small amount of blush and some eyeshadow, along with a little bit of foundation.

“You look better.” I said, glancing at the clock. It was two in the afternoon. How we managed to get that far behind, I had no idea. I grabbed our purses. “Let’s go, we’re going to miss the taxi.” I said, hoping Natalie had remembered to call one in. “You remembered to call one in, right?”

“Yes. Gosh, have a little faith!” She said as we headed out the door.

I looked up at the giant studio, taking a steadying breath. “It’s big.”

“It is. Come on, let’s go make some dreams come true.” Natalie grabbed my hand, pulling me to backstage where they checked our information and pulled us through.

“You two will be staying in this room until someone comes to get you. You aren’t supposed to leave, so stay here.” The buff security guard stated, before walking away. I pulled my phone out.

“Document this!” I yelled, taking a picture of Natalie and I and then posting it on Twitter.

“@GetTheHoranHug: We’re here! -A xx(:”

I started to pace slightly, before Natalie pulled me to a stop. “Girl, calm down. It’s going to be fine.” Natalie said, smiling at me. She started to talk about different things back home, like our dogs and our siblings and soon I was forgetting why I was nervous in the first place.

“They need me to start walking you. Let’s go.” The same security guard from earlier came in, ushering us out the door. I took a deep breath, here we go.

“These girls are living proof that dedication pays off. They’ve been trying so hard to meet these boys for months. Twitter was their main bridge of communication, but they have an account on almost every social media network out there. Maybe you’ve heard of them? Please welcome, Natalie and Alexis, from Operation Get The Horan Hug!” The crowd broke into a round of applause as Natalie and I made our way out to the stage. I went over and sat down, taking in my surroundings as we went to commercial.

I was surrounded by five of the most gorgeous boys on earth, sitting right in between Harry and Louis. Harry had casually thrown his arm around me, and I was doing my best not to hyperventilate. Natalie was sitting between Niall and Harry, and was already chatting up a storm with Niall.

“How about we actually get something done here.” Ellen said humorously as the On Air sign came back on. I looked over at her expectantly. “Would you guys like to explain why you’re here?” Natalie looked over at me expectantly, so I cleared my throat and explained our mission once again.

“Pretty much, we just wanted to meet these boys. Natalie has this insane crush on Niall, we thought it would be pretty awesome if she could get a hug from him.” I finished, glancing over at Natalie who was blushing profusely.

“Don’t forget about your Harry hug!” She said, laughing. It was my turn to blush as I glanced over at Harry, who was already looking at me.

“Sounds like we aren’t done then, are we?” Ellen said, standing up. “Well, get on with it!” She said, motioning for Natalie and Niall to stand up. Niall pulled Natalie into a hug quickly, obviously suffocating her. I laughed at Natalie’s shocked expression. She blushed slightly, before sitting back down, visibly closer to Niall, who had taken her hand.

“That is a lot of work, you know.” Niall said, laughing at Natalie, who was obviously still shocked.

“Yeah, it was definitely worth it though.”

“Now about that Harry hug.” Harry mumbled, pulling me up into a hug as well. I hugged him back, taking in his scent. He smelled slightly like mints.

“Someday, huh?” Harry asked, talking about my perfume, I’d suppose. I recalled reading that he could name almost any girl’s perfume by smelling it.

“What can I say? Big fan of the Biebs.” I laughed, sitting back down.

“We made magic!” Ellen said, clapping excitedly. “When we get back, the boys will be performing their hit single, ‘What Makes You Beautiful!’”
