A Fallen Star

The Invasion

That morning I woke up to the dark birds screech a song of dread. I lift my body up with my arms and squint my eyes from the light coming through my window. I slide off of my bed and stretch. But when I do so I wince at the pain in my back. I throw my pants in my basket and get black pants and a black shirt to come up the whip markings. When I am done getting dressed I walk down stairs to the living room.

I see my mother and someone else sitting next to her. I come down and become very protective over my mother when my mother looks at me and smiles. I smile back and see that the person next to her is a Lizard folk. He had red scales with black markings and leather all over him. He smiles at me and I stare at him. I stay standing in the door way and wait to be commanded to do something.

When my father walks in I bow in respect and watch him sit next to my mother. The lizard folk and my father grab each other's arms and shake in the greeting of my people. I turn and walk to the kitchen to grab something to eat. When I grab some food I walk to the back yard where Are is ordering Hart around. Slan is Ark's beta so he is like a lap dog to him. I see Hart on the floor crying. Something snaps inside of me and I let out a loud growl.

Ark and Slan both flinch at the sudden presence of me. I watch Ark look at me with a smirk but Slan steps back. Why, I'm not sure. Ark and I start to circle and I wait until he attacks first. He always attacks first. I leap over him with a flip. He falls face first. He lets out a growl and lunges at me. I lunges towards him also and smash my fist right into his gut. As he passes me I walk away towards Hart. He has been kicked in the stomach and unlike me he doesn't get hurt that much.

I kneel down and help him up. When me and him turn towards the living quarters Ark stands there radiating anger. I look at Slan and he walks over and takes Hart. When they are a safe distance away I watch my older brother with a skilled eye.

He runs towards me and I dodged him but he saw that and grabbed my shirt and threw me to the ground. When my back hit the ground I let out a gasp and the groaned. Before I knew what was happening I was punched in the face. I was punched over and over again.

Then I lifted a hand up and stopped him. He looked shocked when I stopped his fist with my hand. I am an Alpha's son. I should be able to fight back. In the time he was shocked I flipped over so that we switched positions and I began to lay punch after punch. My punches got harder and were filled with anger.

Then I was pulled off by Slan when my father stood by the Lizard folk. I looked up at my father who had for the first time ever shock in his features. I stood there fists clenched and teeth bared. I looked to my unconscious brother and everything came back. I did that.

I look at Hart and Slan who stood with disbelief. I was about to say something when all of a sudden a shreak came through the air. I covered my ears and looked at the lizard and saw he was the one making the dreadful noise and that's when thousands of them came out. My father had hate in his eyes and before the lizard could say anything my father ripped it's head off.

The thousands that ran out from the forest came into the village and started to burn the houses. They threw pouched filled with powder that smelled like metal in the houses. Screams and yells where heard that point in time. I rushed inside to find my mother and sisters when I see a lizard standing over them and my mother protectively standing infront of my sister's.

I growl out and the lizard turns towards me and pulls out a L shaped piece of metal out of his coat and I lunge towards him and hit the thing out of his hand.

I bite his arm and he lets out a screech and I started to shake my head violently. I mauled him and when I was done I was shaking with anger. I turned to my mother and she had terror written in her face and she was staring at me. I felt all rage leave and I stood up to walk towards her before I hear a loud crack go through the air. I turned towards the back yard and took off towards it.
