"Get inside Beatriz."

Thirdy tighten the grip of our hands.

"Sir---"

"I SAID GET INSIDE THE CAR NOW! You wouldn't want me to drag you inside Isabelle."

All the people here were rendered silent by how Dad utter those words. The last time I saw him this mad is when Kuya Loel went hiking without his permission when he was about 16.
"Sir, please. I can explain."

Tinitigan lang siya ni Dad and then look at me again. Bumitaw na ako kay Thirdy. I know my father too well, he is a good man pero iba magalit.

"Tatawag ako mamaya."

"But, what if---?"

"Ssshh sige na."

I got inside the car. They were all left eyeing each other. I saw how afraid Thirdy is. This is it, this will be the start.

"Dad, I am sorry."

"Sorry? Beatriz if you are sorry hindi mo gagawin ang mga bagay na alam mong mali in the first place."

"Aayusin naman namin ito Dad, just give us time."

Dad was too furious, he's almost screaming. And Mom being the calm one is just sitting beside me pero alam ko just how worried she is.

"Anak, may girlfriend si Thirdy. If you are in her situation you wouldn't feel good diba?"

Hindi ako makasagot kay Mommy, she raised me well and I know that she is disappointed. Sino ba naman ang hindi.

"PARA KANG MAUUBUSAN NG LALAKI!"

"Elmer! Can you please calm down!"

"What? My God Det! Would you believe that she'll turn out that way? Papatol sa lalaking in a relationship na? The guy who hurted her in so many ways before? Tell me? Ano ang ikakalma ko?!"

"Dad I am so sorry, again I didn't meant to be a disappointment to you and Mom, but I love him. Mahal ko siya."

At that point my tears just fell.

"Love? You call that love? Love is being responsible not just for your own emotions, love is considering people around you, love is being happy without hurting the people around you! Pinili mong makapanakit ng ibang tao para pumasok sa isang relasyon sa lalaking katulad ng Thirdy na yan? Ha?"

That made me raised my head to Dad.
"Katulad ni Thirdy? Bakit Dad, ano ba ang tingin mo kay Thirdy? Is it really about me being too impulsive risking about love, or is it me having a relationship with Thirdy?"

"I just wanted what's best for you!"

"Best for me? I love the person! And that I think is the best thing about me being in a relationship with Thirdy. Mahal ko siya!"

Tumayo na ako,I wanted Dad to understand my point.

"Yes! I admit, ayaw ko sa lalaking yun, ano ang aasahan mo sa isang lalaking walang ibang alam gawin kungdi mag basketball? Who only goes to school to play basketball! Ano pag graduate, maglalaro ng basketball? If you'll happen to end up with that guy, ikaw pa ba ang bubuhay sa kanya?"

"Dad I can't believe you, he is attending a university!"

"That is just his way to get himself in a league after college!"

"But that is his dream! And its totally fine with me! I love him kaya susuportahan ko siya."

"And then what? He'll retire at the age of 35 or 40 then you'll be the one working alone? How lucky can he get huh?"
