Bea’s POV:

I was literally rushing outside my classroom after my class, may usapan kami ni Thirdy na magkikita mamaya sa ‘same spot’, but I need to be there earlier dahil may surprise ako sa kanya. Well who said ba kasi na boys lang ang pwede mag set up ng romantic date surprise? We girls can do that also. I can’t wait to see the reactions on his face kapag nakita niya. I am too excited. I pull out my car keys as I near to my car. Pero naabutan ko doon si Cole na nakasandal, smiling at me with a long stem white rose. Nilapitan niya ako  and hand me the flower.

Cole: Na miss kita, sobra. I heard Coach Tai and Coach Sherwin are out for an Athletic meeting, so that makes you available tonight.

Oh shoot! No Cole please.

Cole: So, I guess you can go to dinner with me? I asked Ate Alexa to cook for us. Sa bahay lang then we can watch movies after.

Bea: Ahmm Cole kasi...

Cole: Oh c’mon
Beatriz, its been a while, please just give me this? Please? Please?

He held my hands and looked me in the eye, he is trying to be cute. I think I need to tell him na, it is unfair for him. I don’t want to make things worse pa by hiding from him.

Cole: Come, lets get you with another dress, palit kana muna sa dorm. Come!

Hinila niya ako on the way to Eliazo. Gosh, he seems to be excited, I can’t break him now, but it is now or never. Ayaw ko mang may masaktan pero andito na ito eh. Sooner or later mangyayari at mangyayari din naman.

Later did I know nasa lobby na pala kami ng Eliazo and he is pushing me to go upstairs.

Cole: Go Beatriz, change into something girly na, not the long sleeve polo with cap pa ang dadalhin ko sa dinner date diba?

He smiled. Nakita ko naman na dumaan sila Maddie at Jho and gave me that nakakalokong ngiti. I faced him. Hold his hand and give it a squeeze.

Bea: Cole, wait.

Cole: Sayang oras Bei.

Hinila ko siya uli. Napatigil naman siya ng makita niyang nangingilid na ang luha ko.

Cole: Hey, why?

Bea: I don’t know how to break it to you. Pero sorry, believe me hindi ko sinasadya. Ayaw kita saktan, ayaw ko na makasakit. Sorry, sorry.

I think he knew what I am about to say kasi binitawan niya ang kamay ko at bumagsaka ang balikat niya, and sit on the sofa nearest to him. He squeeze the bridge of his nose and tried to supress the tears that are about to fall.

Cole: Bea,  please. Wag naman, mahal na mahal kita. Kaya ko naman maghintay, never naman kitang minadali, didn’t I? Ano ba ang mali?

In the corner of my eye, I saw my teamates peeking on us, they all look so confuse.

Bea: Walang mali, please don’t think that.

Cole: Eh ano?! Please tell me! Cause its freaking hurt!

Naiyak na ako ng tuluyan. He got up from sitting and hugged me while crying.

Bea: I know I don’t deserve you Cole. There is someone who deserve you more than I do. Way more better.

Cole: I don’t care about the others. Ikaw lang ang gusto ko.

Humahagulhol na siya. Shit ano ba ang ginawa ko?

Bea: Please Cole, ayaw ko. I can’t do that to you.

Cole: Ano ba ang mali? May kulang pa ba? Tell me.

I looked at him and shut my eyes.

Bea: I still love Thirdy, we’ve been seeing each other for some time now, I am sorry, so sorry.
