The entire class was screaming at the sight of the growing flame, and within seconds everyone was evacuating.
I stood looking at the flame for a minute, in a complete trance.
"Aria."
I heard my name but focused my eyes even harder on the ground.
"ARIA WE'VE GOTTA GO!!" I heard Rosalie and Angel scream in unison, before grabbing my arm and dragging me out the class.
Alarm bells were going off, as our entire year group stormed through the hallway and down the stairs, whilst the teachers tried to keep us in an 'orderly fashion', despite the fact that we could burn down alongside the rest of the school at any moment.
We all eventually reached the playground, and were placed in register order to ensure that nobody was left inside the building.
The ear piercing alarm bells drowned out the chatter and panic amongst the students, until of course, the headteacher tried to bring us all back to sanity.
"We have confirmed that everyone has left the building safely, and that the fire was caused by a mere...accident in the Science Block that the Year 10's were conducting an experiment in." Mrs Murphy said through a microphone to ensure she had everyone's attention.
I turned back to look at Mitchell, and realised my entire Science class' eyes were on me.
I mouthed a quick 'sorry guys', before turning back to the headteacher.
"So, due to the fire taking place in the Science Department where numerous other experiments were taking place in different classes, we cannot ensure that no other gases or harmful products have been created and spread through the school. Hence, we have chosen to dismiss you all from school until further notice." Mrs Murphy said.
The entire playground was filled with cheers and 'yeses', and I couldn't help but smile and think - wow, I actually did something that made the school stop functioning. #MentalPatOnTheBack

"I can't believe you went and did that!!" Selina yelled at me as we walked home together.
"I know right, high five Aria." Monika said whilst smiling.
"No!! No high fives!! You could've gotten in to trouble bad ways." Selina stated.
"Come on, it was an accident, like they're gonna go after me for that." I say whilst taking a sip of one of the milkshakes that we all bought.
"True - and remember, Mitchell would be held responsible as much as she would." Angel replied.
"Speaking of responsibility, how the hell did that fire happen?" Rosalie asked.
"Well, Mitchell being the dumb ass that he is dropped the beaker on the floor that had potassium and acid in it, then I kinda sorta swung my arm and the Bunsen burner landed on the top of the mixture on the ground.." I said, avoiding eye contact with Selina, who was clearly going to flip out and lecture me.
"Awww, you guys are like partners in crime." Monika smiled, whilst putting on a cutesy voice to piss me off.
"More like detention partners once the school gets to the bottom of everything." Selina muttered.
"Come on Selina, you're overreacting. They said it was an accident." I replied.
"Technically, she might have a point. They only said it was an accident in the lab, so they don't really know the real cause." Rosalie claimed.
"Yeah, I mean like, they couldn't have examined it that quickly, the main thing was to get the fire out first." Angel added.
"Stop trying to scare me for no reason." I laughed as I got my house keys out. "It'll be fine."
I waved to my friends as they walked off, whilst I went into my house and slumped on the sofa.
I took out my phone and started scrolling through Instagram whilst blasting 'Stay' by Zedd.
"Ughh, I get that you're pregnant, you don't have to tell the world you know!!" I said, upon scrolling past the fifth post I'd seen of Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder.
"Who's pregnant??" A voice asked.
Oh shit.
Alicia.
"No-one." I quickly said, before grabbing my bag and running up the stairs.
The rest of the evening went as per usual.
All the students received emails that the school would be out of action for the rest of the week, so pretty much everyone was celebrating, including me.
Until the next day.

"Aria!!!" I heard Alicia called, as I released my head from being buried under my blanket and pillows.
"I don't have school today..go away..." I strained to yell, as I flopped the covers back over my face.
"Not that!!! There's someone at the door and it's locked!" She yelled again.
I looked up at the clock.
08:18
Who the heck would be knocking the door at this time?
I threw on my nightgown, after somehow managing to drag myself out of bed.
I swear whoever wrecked up my sleep is gonna pay... I thought to myself as I stomped down the stairs.
I unlocked the door and stared at the three figures outside.
Oh fuck.
It was the headteacher.
"Hello Aria. Could we come in?"
