Chapter 21 - Twist Of A Knife

"Aria!?" I heard voices calling out.

"Aria are you there!?"

I slowly raised my arm and waved my hand in the air, crouching by the patch of grass by the same bench I ran to when Mitchell confessed his feelings to me. The same part where our relationship saga begun had now become the place where I had realised it was totally broken. The dates, the love, the trust had all disappeared because Mitchell could give me everything but loyalty. And no amount of materialistic love was worth being second to someone else.

"Aria!" Rosalie and Angel yelled in unison, running toward me and skidding into sitting positions next to me on the grass. "What's wrong, what happened?!"

"Are you okay?" Selina asked, as she and Monika sat opposite me.

I slowly shook my head, burying my hands and face into my knees.

"What's happened Aria, we can't help you unless you tell us." Monika said, patting my shoulder.

"M..." I stuttered, raising my tear stained face, struggling to speak. "Mitchell.."

"Mitchell?" Rosalie asked.

"Is he okay? Did something happen to him?" Angel also asked.

I shook my head once more,

"He...he cheated on me." I whispered, before breaking down into further tears.

Despite my watered eyes, I saw their jaws drop.

"NO." Monika said.

"There's no way in hell." Selina said.

"Who told you this?!" Rosalie asked.

"K...Keegan..." I replied.

I instantly witnessed a change in her demeanour.

"THAT FUCKING BASTARD'S GETTING HIS THROAT TORN OUT TODAY." Rosalie shouted, rage in her eyes and tone, as she stood up in fury.

"Rosalie!" Angel yelled.

"NO ANGEL, HE AIN'T GONNA CHAT SHIT AND THINK HE CAN JUST SCREW UP SOMEONE'S LIFE LIKE THAT." Rosalie replied, beginning to march from us. Fortunately, Monika went after her.

"Hey we have to be here for Aria now okay." Monika said firmly. "We can beat the shit out of Keegan later, for now, she's our priority."

Rosalie heaved, but returned and sat next to me, I couldn't help but giggle at her fury towards Keegan.

"How are you feeling Aria?" Selina asked.

"Like crap." I replied, beginning to get my words out more.

"Hey, there's a 99.9% chance that Keegan's bullshitting. For what reason did you believe him anyway?" Angel asked.

"Yeah, and when did you even find this out, more so, how?" Monika asked.

"I got a text from Mitchell last night to chill with him in the park for a bit today, except when I got there, it was Keegan. And then he told me and I.." 

I couldn't carry on speaking.

Real or not, hearing those words, remembering those words felt like the twist of a knife in my heart all over again.

Rosalie hugged me with a squeeze, but only for a moment.

"Aria, I love you...but what the fuck is wrong with you?!" She stated. "What the hell made you believe Keegan was telling the truth?"

"I don't know...I guess you lot's theory of him liking me yesterday came in to play, and I figured he questioned mine and Mitchell's relationship for the sake of breaking the news to me." I replied.
