"What did I miss," began Mitchell, a cautious tone in his voice.
Clearly he hadn't witnessed anything that had just happened considering that was his first question.
I looked back quickly before opening my mouth to reply, checking to see if Austin was still there.
But he was gone.
He'd disappeared in to one of the rooms behind me and left me here, alone.
"Uh...nothing." I stuttered.
"Hey guys, I'm just gonna steal Aria for a second." Rosalie said as she inched towards me. "We'll be back."
She smiled falsely at them before grabbing my hand and dragging me in to the nearby washroom.
*********
"ARE YOU DUMB?" Rosalie yelled, almost flipping the toothpaste off the sink side.
"I don't even-" I began before being cut off.
"I'm gonna make this simple for you Aria." Rosalie said. "Mitchell or Austin."
"How do you expect me to answer that right now?!" I said defensively.
"Well you just snogged one 3 minutes ago and one confessed his feelings for you earlier today. Make a pro's and con's list for both of them for all I care, but you are NOT gonna play with Mitchell's emotions any more." She said brutally.
I needed to hear that, and I know I did. But that didn't stop me from taking it in the worst way possible.
"Are you trying to call me a slag?" I stated.
"No I'm telling you to listen to your heart and consider other people's emotions." She replied, her stern demeanour remained the same; she clearly wasn't shaken by my words. "In the most friendly, honest, get your damn thoughts together kind of manner."
What was I gonna say to that?
"Minute's up." I quickly retorted, before rushing out the washroom.
********
I walked out to see a bunch of doe eyed idiots staring right at me, then saw Mitchell alongside them, looking hopeful.
I took a deep breath.
"Uh..guys can I talk to Mitchell here?" I asked. "Alone." I quickly added.
Selina, Monika and Angel silently nodded and walked downstairs, giving me a look of sympathy before they left.
I was about to walk closer to Mitchell before Rosalie walked out the washroom and nudged me, giving me a hopeful look before she also went downstairs.
"So.." Mitchell said, grinning at the awkwardness. "The whole thing with Maddie is a misunderstanding. We were playing beer switch and kissing me was her forfeit; she just grabbed me. I wouldn't have done it willingly, I swear. And I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings."
The whole thing was a mistake.
Just bad timing.
Aghh why did I have to flip and kiss Austin for--
No..no.
I kissed Austin because I like--
Or do I?
"Er- Aria?" Mitchell asked, switching me back to sanity.
"I'm sorry." The words just blurted out from my mouth. "I - I like you Mitchell."
We stared at each other; he was blinking fast, as if he couldn't believe what I was saying.
"Y-you what?" He said, stumbling over his words, as the corners of his lips turned upwards.
