Our Luna

During my walk, I start to notice people hurrying to the Alpha's house. 

"Hey Nikos, what's going on?" I ask.

"The Alpha has a guest. The pack is curious."

"It's.. Alpha.. M-M-Maddox, right?"

"Yes it is." Roman answers.

I seize the opportunity to learn more about the outside world, this world, with Nikos and Roman. I ask about the other packs and they share a look before answering. 

"We're not sure if we can answer questions not about our pack. Try something else."

"Okay. What's a Luna?" They raise their eyebrows.

"A Luna.. is the Alpha's mate. She is of equal status and power as the Alpha." Nikos answers.

"What's a mate?" Roman coughs, Nikos looks surprised.

"A mate is your partner for life. Someone who will love you entirely, regardless of anything." Roman answers. 

"Do you two have mates?"

"Yes, we do. I haven't met mine but Roman has. Everyone has mates." 

"Really? How do you know?"

"A mate's scent is distinct to a mate, it attracts them strongly. Then everything that follows will assure you that you've found your mate." Roman says.

I haven't met my mate yet then.

I ask Roman about his mate and learned that she's my age and that we could be friends. I'm looking forward to it. We weren't allowed friends because they might cause a rebellion.

I ask questions about Chaos pack and dark packs, I have learned that they're not very different from light packs. I ask them questions about themselves and where they live and learned there's a pack house fifteen minutes from the Alpha's house. I learned plenty but left questions about Alpha Harry for Alpha Harry. I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable with my questions so I kept it at small talk. 

We were talking about food on our way to the Alpha's house. At this point it was almost noon, lunch time. I got a watch because I noticed both Nikos and Roman have them and remembered the guards back at my old pack all have them. Nikos and Roman are nice people but I felt like they were very careful with what to tell me at times. 

We are at the Alpha's house. Nikos and Roman have left and they told me not to disturb the Alpha. I smell food and find the nice old lady.

"Hello, I'm Ascher."

"Oh hello, dear. I'm Emma. Do you want anything to eat in particular?"

I smile at her kindness. "Anything you make is good with me, Emma. It's nice to meet you!"

I talk with her while she prepares lunch. I don't know how to make food so I watch her while we talk. She says she'll teach me a few recipes sometime. Roman says there's this lovely thing called pizza that I should ask for when I can but Emma's making something called pasta and it smells sooo good.

She's almost done when I hear a loud growl and heavy footsteps running towards the kitchen. 

|Short chapter to make up for the length of the previous one. I won't be casting anyone for Ascher. I want you readers to decide what she looks like yourselves. Especially if you read books while imagining yourselves in the character's shoes. I reached 100 views! Suggestions for who to be Alpha Maddox are welcome!
