I hear a small giggle and smile knowing it's my Ascher. I reach for her in bed and startle awake when I realize she isn't here. What?

I follow the sound of her and smile when I find her making breakfast in blissful peace.
"What's making you giggle, little wolf?"

She looks up, delightfully shocked by my sudden presence.
"Ohhh! Good morning, Maddox. It's a little weird but a little girl has been talking to me all morning. She told me a joke about you."

"A little girl? What's the joke?" I smirk, amused with my girl.

"Oh no, she told me not to tell and that she'll be right back... when you leave."

Hmm, odd. "Alrighty." I smile at her and she smiles back. I give her a small peck on the top of her head as I walk behind her, deciding not to bother whatever she's making.

With my oj, I take a seat at the high chairs in front of her. "I was thinking.. today, I'd take you around. You know, you've had a rough couple of days and I'd like to bring you places, have some fun."

"Hmm?" She mumbles, not even looking up at me - too focused on her.. pancakes?

"Baby, there's a carnival nearby, would you like to go?"

I got her attention! "What's a carnival???" She asks, a little too fast, excited and now on her tippy toes, wobbling up and down.

"It's a surprise!" She's stopped whatever she's doing now. 

"Ooooooh, are we going now? What should I wear?" She asks while she semi-runs upstairs to get ready. 

"Anything you like! And I'll pack us some breakfast!" I shout as she leaves me alone with her mess. What was she even making???

Her first carnival. 

The moment we got off the car, she was off. Running and pointing at everything. I'm amused at her excitement, as I am always.

"Ascher, slow down! We have all day!"

We went on all the rides. All twenty-six of them. Twice to thrice on the big ones. She tried all the carny food, found out she loves bubble gum and cotton candy and she had me win her four big stuffies at the games: A pink piggy, a pink bunny, a white bunny and a unicorn with rainbow hair. Where will we put these? They are not going on the bed.

I'm happy she's happy.

"Hey, can we go on that one again?"

I follow her finger as she points at the biggest ride, for the fourth time, still bursting with excitement as she smiles at me in an attempt to persuade me. 

Anything for my little girl. 

"Okay.." She looks at me with excitement as she grips the front of my shirt tight. "But this is the last one, okay!" 

"Okay!!" She gives my lips a quick peck then runs off. 

She'll be the death of me.

This is so much fun!!

I know!, I reply to the girl in my head as we approach the highest point of the roller coaster.  

We get off the coaster and I giggle at Maddox's face. He's all shaken up for the nth time today. 

"I love you. Thank you for this day." I surprise him with a kiss on his cheek.

He looks at me and smiles. "Anything for you, little one. I'm glad you've enjoyed yourself."

"Let's go home?" 

"Let's get some dinner on the way. What would you like?"

I'd like to meet our mate. 

"Hi, I'm Emery."

"Hi, I'm Emery." 

 I snap to look at my girl. She's stopped walking, has her hand out, smiling at me and there are golden rings around her pupils.

Emery's her wolf. 

|I finally got my hands on a laptop! (Borrowed) My one has been in need of repair for months and MSI Service didn't follow through so I'm looking at replacing my gold gaming one (that I love like crazy and performs!!!) with a Microsoft Surface Book, Performance Base. Anyone have any reviews on that? 

By the way, thanks for all the support. I have read through each comment during my involuntary hiatus from writing this as well as appreciated all the love. Sorry for the delay and for more waiting as I struggle to find a laptop to use. Thank you so much.
