Today has been tiring, my special classes teacher Rammy gave me a bunch of assessment exams to do over the previous five hours and I'm two questions away from freedom.
"How's she doing?" I look up, surprised at the presence of the familiar voice but return to my last question shortly after.
"She's getting tired."
"Okay, I'm done!!!!" Maddox smiles at me as I rush to pass my last set of papers to Rammy.
"Great, I'll see you tomorrow!" Before he even finished the word tomorrow, I was already out the door, dragging Maddox by the hand.
"Can't wait to get home, Ascher?"
"Yes! So walk faster! I'm hungry!"
"Didn't you like your first day of class?" Hmm.. this might be a trap, have to be careful with how I say it.
"I just wish it wasn't that full on, you know?" I look him straight in the eyes while sighing.
"Well.. You could always just stay at home with me, you know." Did he just wink at me? I knew it!
"Nope, I'm going to get that degree! Now, hurry up and make me some food!" I'm so worn out and grumpy as we settle in the car.
He widens his eyes at me. "I'd change your tone if I were you." I stare at him, eyes wide, realizing my mistake.
"Um.. I'm sorry, Appa." I smile, apologetically, hoping he'd let this one pass. He smiles, in acknowledgment.
"I'm just a little gwumpy cause I'm really tired." I take the kinky route shamelessly.
"Awww, rest your pretty little head, I'll have us home in no time." I drift off to sleep.
I'm being carried but I don't want to open my eyes yet so I let Maddox carry me in.
"I know you're awake, princess."
"Mmmmm..." I snuggle into his chest, basking in his scent.
"Bed or the couch?"
"Beeeeeeeed" He chuckles and I feel the low vibrations move through his chest.
He puts me down in the bed and burritos me up then I hear him walking out the room. Ah, so much comfort.
"Noooo, stayyyy... heeeeeere... with meee." All without opening my eyes, lazyass.
"What's gotten into you, little bug?"
"I'm little, and, and, and clingy, and, and cuuuuuuddlyyyy- come, come, come!" Trying to bounce my body to motion him to come in bed already.
When I hear the quilt and him move, I'm eager for his warmth and grab him with both my arms and legs.
"Hmmmm." I'm content. "I like you a lot, Maddox."
He turns to face me and adjusts our bodies.
"I like you too, my little one." He leaves a tiny kiss on my cheek. I giggle and open my eyes slowly and look at his.
"I'm maybe starting to more than like you." I smile and leave a quick tiny kiss on his nose, getting a bit shy now.
He smiles, assuring me. "I love you, get some rest." And I close my eyes a couple of slow times before I fall asleep.
I bolt awake to the smell of food and find that Maddox is no longer in bed with me. I freshen up a bit in the bath and make my way to the kitchen.
"Hi, Appa."
"Hi, how was your sleep?"
"Too quick." I pout and walk closer for a snuggle.
"Aw, we'll have more later. Let's have dinner first, tell me about your day while I finish our food."
"Ohhhhhhhh it was sooooo much reading and answering!!!" I grab a fruit cup, ready to rant away. This goes on for about five minutes.
"Come on, let's eat on the balcony. There's a lovely full moon tonight."
"Okay." I grab our drinks as Maddox is carrying our plates.
We talked about Rammy and laughed about some of his funny moments at university. We're currently snuggling warmly, admiring the moon and the sky full of stars.
"I love your curiosity." I snap my eyes towards him.
"Hm?"
"That you're always looking at everything around us with astonishment, you're just always so adorable, my beautiful mate." I blush and snuggle him deeper in response.
When I recover, I gain the strength to look at him again "I'm always grateful for having met you. You're better than what I could've ever hoped for." My eyes flicker towards his lips.
I kiss him. He kisses me back and I feel the longing he's been feeling all this time.

He smiles, I smile back. We're too smitten for words at this moment. I'm finally happy and couldn't ask for more.
"I love you more than my life, Ascher."
