A hand touches my face in an effort to wake me but I refuse to. This is the best sleep I have ever had in ever and I'm not even in bed. Oh wait!

The Frees Pack. We're here! Sun is shining bright.

Alpha Maddox woke me up and I blush at our proximity. I must have cuddled to him in my sleep or he might have moved closer to me and made me a bit more comfortable in the car.

"How was your nap, princess?"

"Um, it was nice, Alpha."

"Please, Ascher, call me Maddox."

"Okay, A-M-Maddox." I smile, still a bit hazy.

His pack looks greener. I figured it should since the sun stays longer here than at Alpha Harry's. There are immediately groups of people greeting Alph-Maddox as we walk through and I look at the floor, unsure how to respond when I see Maddox's hand coming towards mine.

"Um what are you doing?"

"Holding your hand, I want you to feel safe. Don't worry." With this, I let him. It does make me feel better.

When the people saw our hands, they started to cheer and I tilt my head in curiosity..

"They're happy I've found their Luna, that I've found you." I nod, not really knowing how to respond.

When we finally reach a lovely welcoming, two-story house, the people disperse from the path they've created for us. He walks me inside and to the kitchen.

"You must be hungry. What would you like?" I look at our hands.

"Can we not hold hands anymore?"

"Oh yeah, right. Sorry." He's hurt but feigns a small smile.

"No, I-I'm sorry." I apologize, feeling a little guilty for hurting him with my little question. We stand a bit in our awkward bubble before I see a comfy-looking chair and jump to it.

He smiles at me and I feel a bit embarrassed.

"It looked nice and comfy, sorry."

"It's okay, Ascher." He smiles, seemingly amused. "So.. what snack would you like?"

"One of Alpha Harry's guards told me about this thing called pizza. Can we get one?"

He chuckles. "Of course, which would you like?"

"What do you mean?" We spend the next ten minutes looking at different versions of pizza. I found that his favorite is an all-meat pizza. I told him the three I liked most and he went to call somebody to order them.

When the pizza person arrives, he opens the three boxes in front of me.

"I only wanted to try one, Maddox."

"I want you to try all three, figure out which pizza you like best." He smiles.

After our pizzas, we spent the afternoon getting acquainted. He had somebody bring all kinds of games to his house and we've been trying everything out. At this point, his living room is a mess with boxes and games opened everywhere but he doesn't seem to care.

Currently, we're on our third game of penguin trap.

"I'll make you a bet, if I win, you have to give me a long hug." He won't, he's lost for the last three games.

"Hmmm, sure." I smirk. "But if I win, can I get a cat?"

"Hmmm, sure." He smirks.

We play the game and I lost.

"Give me my hug, Ascher."

"Okay, Maddox." I awkwardly crawl towards him. I have no idea how to begin a hug.

He grabs me and settles into the crook of my neck. I feel a bit uncomfortable with the angle. I guess he sensed this as he guides my legs to straddle him. I feel a bit awkward but he seems full-on comfortable so I ride along.

My arms are over his shoulders and I just freeze here, letting him hug the life out of me. With his eyes closed, inhaling my scent and face snuggled near my collar bone he says

"I've waited years for you. I'll love you, care for you, protect you for the rest of our lives."

I smile, almost involuntarily. He's sweet. This afternoon has been fun and he's been great to me.

"Years?"

He opens his eyes and looks at me. "Yes, Ascher, seven years to be precise."

"How do you know?"

"I'm 25, Ascher. I should've met you when I was 18. But the wait's been worth it, you're here now. I'm never letting you go."

This might have seemed creepy to me before but now, with the sincerity in his eyes, I accept his words.

"Can I have a tour of the house?"

"Okay, love." He stands us up and holds my hand, I don't argue.

"Ooh, can I see my room first??" I squeal, excitedly.

"Your room? You don't have one, you'll stay in my room, with me."

"Oh.." He walks us to his room and it's twice the size of what Alpha Harry gave me at his house.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes, Maddox. It's nice." I'd still rather sleep on my own bed.

"Come on, let's decide what you want for dinner." Dinner??? Food!

|Hey, everyone. If there's a little confusion or question about Ascher's personality, think of being in her shoes. You grew up in prison-like conditions, with no freedom nor human connections. You don't know much, yes even in food. In my mind, she's this wonderfully curious and easily excited girl although a little bit cautious and guarded. Everything about the world makes her happy because she's developed an appreciation for it from being deprived for most of her life. Leave me a comment! What do you think so far?
