The helmet was cast aside in one swift movement, a smirk showing bright as day on the perpetrator's face. Your parents' eyes had widened.
"Abraham! What is all of this? Stop this at once!" Your father commanded, staring down the now known commander.
"My dear, dear brother. I am afraid I simply cannot do such a thing," he replied coolly. "This kingdom has fallen weak to your pathetic attempts that you call 'proper ruling'. You cannot simply win over and protect your subjects with love and support. It is better to be feared than loved. Which is why I am taking over."
"This... This is insanity! Destroying our kingdom, massacring our subjects and knights, even going as far as to spill your own blood and marriage relatives?" Your father snarled, making large hand gestures to get his point through.
"This is what must be done, David. I would not be able to rule if you were in the way. Invasion was a fit way to bring fear in the subjects and its a way to finally get rid of you."
"'F-Finally'?" Your mother's lip quivered, staring into her brother-in-law's eyes in terror.
He smirked, "Of course, dear. This has been a goal of mine for quite a while now. I was supposed to rule according to age, but you, brother, happened to marry before I. Thus means that the throne and crown went to you, according to our father's challenge."
With every word Abraham said, more and more understanding fear entered your parents, and yet they still didn't understand why. Why must he do this? Sure they got a response, but all for what? Just some silly throne and a crown?
And suddenly, they both figured it out. Your parents' eyes widened in new found fear. As David spoke, Abraham's smile widened to a grin that had hints of visible madness.
"You're a megalomaniac, aren't you..?"

It was as if you had only just been put to bed for the night when you were awoken again by the feeling of someone picking you up. Your heavy (E/C) eyes seemed to have enough strength to glance up at Toriel questionably.
"My apologies child," she whispered, holding you close. "You must be off, and I will see to it that you get into the proper hands safely." Her words sounded bittersweet yet soft as to not disturb you anymore than what is needed.
You didn't think much of this and simply settled your head on her shoulder, attempting to get some rest.
She allowed this, but it almost broke her soul knowing what had to be done. She shut the door behind her firmly, and for the last time.
The goat monster made her way without haste through the hall. Turning, she took her time down the stairs and entered the corridor. Her footsteps were empty as they padded along, which was likewise to her soul.
As she took a left turn, she halted, seeing the ending door before her. Taking a shaking breath, she pressed on, rubbing your back as she went.
Arriving at the door, Toriel carefully shifted you so that she was holding you in one arm. Using her other hand, she wrapped her knuckles on the door.
